I wasn't saying that is all Alabama or auburn had. Auburn has an excellent history department, but there is no need to mention it

Dean is a Harvard/Hofstra man determined to bring the state into the 21rst century. I have a feeling he's not satisfied with that ranking. Been around Saban too long

I think TT9 is referring to Auburn fans on the internet and talk radio in general. One on one you guys (Auburn people/fans) are some of the coolest, most down to earth people to know and hang out with that you'll find anywhere. However, when you get together as the "Auburn family" on any message board or social gathering you guys become very high and mighty about how much more intellectually, academically, and morally superior Auburn is compared to Alabama. In fact, you guys are at least as delusional about your school and everyone associated with it as the craziest sidewalk Alabama fans are about the Alabama football program.
As for the schools, you're right. Auburn is very good if not almost elite in engineering, agriculture, vet medicine, architecture, and many of the sciences. You guys have even built a formidable business program from scratch over the last 40 or 50 years. I have to admit that academically it's a quality school so long as the meddling trustees don't put it at risk with SACS anymore.
As for Alabama, it's a shame that the UA system is structured the way it is because if not for so many engineering resources going to UAH and the medical school technically being under the UAB banner, Alabama would long since likely met every criteria for AAU membership.
