I'm shocked that a Bama fan started this thread.

Just ticks me off that if you post something regarding another team (or city in this case) people want to get their panties all in a wad. Heck there's information I didn't even know until I saw a fan from another team post (ie. Derrick Henry breaking his leg).

eta - also as far as a campus and the town goes, I like Auburn. Had a couple friends and an ex-gf that went there and I spent plenty of time on campus and around town. Never had a complaint or any bad experiences.

BTW, I don't really have a problem with the comments to a great extent. Also, while at AU, I always found the AUPD to be a quality respectable group in general. Never had any problems with them except fricking speeding tickets constantly (yeah, yeah, shouldn't have been speeding).

I just get annoyed when LE is disrepectful in general and think they are in charge or special or some bullshite. They are public servants and our employees. Nothing more, nothing less. They do their job or they get fired and replaced.

Well, you know how this board has evolved (devolved) over the past couple of years in particular.

I'm certainly no angel (at all), but wanted to note you are not a "flamer" for those not familiar.

I would definitely say that it's devolved.

I've lived in a lot of college towns, and generally speaking, I would say that cars that don't have local tags get pulled over MUCH more often than cars that do.

College aged kids are pretty stupid. We were all stupid. I don't have a problem with law enforcement thinking it, but it does rub me the wrong way that he seems outwardly giddy about targeting them. That would happen anywhere, and it certainly doesn't reflect upon Auburn specifically.

This guy is sort of like duck hunters that bait a duck blind next to a wildlife refuge and then brag about how many ducks they killed.

Amazing ... more proof of what is wrong with the world these days.

The children are now in charge of the adults. In other words, the incurable ward is in charge of the insane asylum, the fox is in charge of the hen house, etc. You get the picture.

Good analogy.

first off, i have a degree but education or a lack thereof doesn't necessarily have any bearing on whether someone is an idiot or not.

There really isn't anything wrong with what he said. But the guy is a jackass, and it's funny that they fired him. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. He was the epitome of what you think of when people say cops were nerds who got picked on in high school, and now act like bad asses with guns.

They make me cringe. Maybe they all thought he was a tool and they were just looking for a reason to fire him.

College students idiots? Of course.

What he cites as examples of their idiocy is where my issue is. If they are driving drunk or destroying property while drunk, absolutely pull out the cuffs. Open containers and being drunk in public...bfd.
