No delivery is allowed in Colorado. Though they've discussed it for medical users. Though there are a lot of jobs in the industry. But most of them are pretty low paying.

I looked into when I was thinking about a career change. They weren't paying nearly well enough for me to consider it.

I smoke more than even you're average regular smoker, and I couldn't imagine being high at work. Maybe when I was 18 with shitty job. But now that seems insane.

Besides, if you blaze all day, even a mensa member will feel retarded after a couple weeks. You don't appreciate a buzz when you have one the majority of the day.


Though I do know a few alcoholics that might be better off as a stoner.At least they'd be able to function and hold down a job.

And congrats Arky. While I wish the allowable conditions were more inclusive, it's a great first step. I'd like to see a chronic pain being allowed medical, to help people use less or zero opiates. But I'll take any baby steps allowed.


Either way, with California on the West coast, and Massachusetts on the east coast, the floodgates are about to open. Cheaper, higher quality cannabis will be coming to a dealer near you. Hopefully, the weed and the suppliers income will soon be taxed. People mention $140 million in reefer tax revenue. But that's not including dispensary employees income tax, and probably not the basic sales tax on purchases.

This would have passed by more if not for shenanigans by the courts.

There were 2 proposals, Issue 6 and Issue 7.

A lot of people preferred Issue 7 because it included a "grow your own" provision.

The courts knocked Issue 7 off the ballot AFTER early voting had already begun. People who voted only for issue 7 didn't get their voices heard. I voted for both, just in case.

Recreational marijuana narrowly missed being on the ballot this year. It should be on it in 2018.

I would've definitely preferred something like that. Though most people won't actually do it. They might try it once. But growing high quality weed is a lot of hard work. Significantly more than I expected when I grew. Especially harvest time.

I understand what you're saying. We give random drug tests, but if it's legal then how do you know if someone causing an accident is high or sober at the time of the accident.

At least with alcohol you can smell it and a BAC measure will also establish a time frame.

You guys don't have a real argument other than you want to get high. To each their own, but when someone gets hurt in an accident everybody will be quick to blame the employers instead of the person that causes it.

It's still on the employee, the majority of company's will still have a zero tolerance policy towards it.

Hopefully Texas can wise up and do the same, eventually allowing medicinal and then recreational. I fear that with Abbott in office it will continue to be shot down.

New Mexico has relaxed marijuana laws and dispensaries for medical card holders, Arkansas just voted to legalize medical, surely it will be just a matter of time before it catches on here. I just don't see why the bible thumping politicians down here in Texas can't realize the benefits that the taxes from marijuana would bring about.

Should we pay for daily drug tests instead of random? But you reinforce my point when you say we could not hire pot heads. Blame us and not the employee.

They were fired because they broke company rules. Once, you blame the employee, 4 times and you need to look at your hiring and management.

Even if it became fully legal you could still mandate no operating equipment under an influence as company policy.

No. You check with their references. See if they have a history of showing up to work high. If they show signs of being high at work, test them. If they are high at work, discipline them (suspend/terminate). AKA do your job as the employer and then trust that they'll do their job as the employee.

shite. I thought I saw somewhere where it was allowed. Either way, it's still created some good jobs. Not well enough to live off of, but I imagine there's a bunch of slackers there that would love to work in that industry.
