I was hoping Arya would fly in outta nowhere and knife Cersei through the back while she was looking at Jamie

Either that or Khaleesi deciding to have a little barbecue on the top floor of the Red Keep

What did you want? Them to be executed by Daenerys' dragon? Grayworm to kill them?
I was fine with how they died as it's a metaphor. Had Cersei and Jamie not done twincest House Lannister might have ruled a thousand years (as Tywin said). But, thanks to Jamie returning because he loves cersei, and cersei being protective of her and Jamie's kid they bring the power house Lannister has a acquired through the show and prior, down around them via both of them dying in the attack while they hold each other still thinking their love is what's important. Pretty tragic arc but also fitting. Twincest destroyed them and their house

Yeah it made sense from a metaphorical standpoint.

ehhhhh.....after 8 years of building her up as the most hated person alive, im cool on metaphores. ICE THAT BITCH!

I don't get all the hate for cersei. I considered her to be a good, mlorally questionable character. She's willing to do anything to protect her kids, which makes her a good mother. But, it also causes her to do bad stuff like kill Robert and blow up the great Sept.
Still, she cares about her kids, and does work to protect her family's future via getting euron on her side, getting the golden company, etc. even after her first 3 kids are gone.
She's not wholly evil nor wholly good, so the show did a good job with her character. She knew Joffrey was not a good person, and she did try to restrain him from doing evil at various points.
She's not a hero, but she's not really a villain either, so I don't want to see her get flayed or something like that

Well for starters I would have liked for them to have not completely ruined Jaime and Cersei and destroyed their respective character archs. That would have been nice

Jamie should have personally killed Cersei to complete his story arch. That would have been the only acceptable death for her
Valonqar
Valonqar

Yeah i kinda expected Jamie to kill her, but they threw valonqar out the window for some reason. You could argue that Tyrion killed her since he told Jamie and her to go down into the dragon crypt to escape
Still a cop out and he didn't really kill either of them.

I get why she's hated: she'd done just about everything ruthlessly right to play and win the game of thrones.
I don't really begrudge her character for it, sordid as she was. Not like she's the only one willing to get her hands dirty. Probably just turned more folks off that she seemed to flaunt it or derive twisted pleasure from it.

It wasn't Jaime's baby though, it was Euron.
The whole episode was a mess and two of the OG characters, Jaime and Cersei deserved a better send off.
Ummmm, why the frick does Danaerys all of sudden know how wield a dragon to it's full potential? HOW COME SHE WASN'T DOING THAT THIS WHOLE TIME?!?!
I'm not mad... just disappointed.

She's known how the whole time, and has exercised/been advised to exercise restraint.
All her advisers are now either dead or untrustworthy (in her eyes).

Funny enough forums like this site and Reddit (who were pretty critical of this show than most leading up to this episode) seem to like this episode better than rest of the internet. This episode currently has really mediocre ratings and reviews. I guess it’s because Dany had a huge fan base and now she’s a bad guy in the eyes of many. As well as this this episode being far darker than other big time episodes.

Yes, there was legit melting going down on Twitter last night over this.

Reddit has been a shitting all over this episode. The few positive things I've seen there have been about Cleganebowl
Posted on 5/13/19 at 2:09 pm to BowlJackson
And honestly, it could have been better. Although, I loved when the mountain just threw the hand aside and killed him on impact.

I meant they’re not as critical of it as usual. Episode 3 and 4 were absolutely shite on as much as possible but this episode not as much.

I feel like this episode season was directed by Ramsay Bolton for how tortured I've been.

This is where she messed up. She killed Robert for her personal enjoyment. If she would have let him die naturally when Joffrey got older I don't think Ned would have went snooping. Therefore power would have got transferred to Joffrey peacefully.
Her selfishness started this entire war.
