This.

Everything else is radical Texan revisionist history.

Sure did. We thank you for sacrificing the most famous Tennessean ever for our cause.

I mean, none of those Tennesseans were part of a battle that Texans won BUT Texans enjoy the losses more than the wins sometimes anyway.

It might have gone better had you westerners done your part. Losing New Orleans in less than a year didn't help.

We probably should have built a formidable navy before we made any rash decisions

Where do you live? I've lived here for 20 years.

Alaska has many historic Russian buildings. There are active Russian Orthodox Churches in some 80 Alaska communities, many of which still use the old-style Russian Orthodox calendar and celebrate Christmas on what is marked as Jan. 7 in Western calendars.

Many of Alaska's native peoples who lived in the regions colonized by Russia have Russian surnames, stemming from the days when they were colonial subjects of the czar and many intermarried. Russian names mark Alaska's geographical landscape.

Russian Orthodox "Old Believers" who emigrated from the Soviet Union have their own old-style Russian villages in Alaska.

True, in parts of Alaska that are extremely cold. Southern, Coastal areas are relatively warm. Many villages have banned alcohol.

Well, that Sam Houston guy kind of came in handy.

My family is originally from Tennessee as well and came to Texas in the mid 1800's.
