LOL Tulsa?

Tulsa would easily be one of nicer "big cities" in the entire Southeast. It's boring and generic/lower midwestern, but it isn't terrible.

A buddy of mine worked there. He said that Odessa was the richer town while Midland was the working class.

That's definitely backwards. Odessa is where the titty bars and nightclubs are located. It's the working class ugly little sister to Midland.

The old saying is "Go to Odessa to raise hell, go to Midland to raise a family".

Once got a speeding ticket in Reform, Al., for going 36 in a 35 MPH zone.

Gordo and Reform are legendary for this. Another one is Waynesboro, TN.

On the way to the beach my kids always snickered when we went through Intercourse Alabama.

And a little southeast of Prichard is Africatown.

Tulsa and OKC are rivals like Dallas and Houston so it makes sense someone from OKC would talk trash. I've always thought Tulsa was a nicer town overall, although OKC has certainly made strides in recent years. Tulsa is hilly and green and has a few nice shopping areas and museums. OKC is a barren wasteland with a tornado target on its back every year. (But wuttabout Bricktown!)

They're not that dissimilar, OKC being slightly larger.
