My dad has been bitten twice as well. He went and got it treated, got some anti-biotics and was fine. If you get it taken care of in a timely matter, they really aren't a big deal. If you let it go days without treatment, it will get very nasty.

all spider species are venomous, fwiw, even the little tiny ones you think are cute.
