lol well I think a lot of people would classify Athens as a dump. It has more of a mill town look than Clemson or Statesboro, which are essentially country estates, and in Clemson's case, a country estate nestled in the foothills next to a lake.

I'm not anti-UGA and Athens though, I understand the appeal. Now that is had engineering I probably would have considered going there if I was 20 years young and lived in GA>

How about the masses of Clemson students that flock to Athens on the weekends to party?

I'm skeptical of that one. I know a lot of them go back to their hometowns, real cities like ATL, Charleston, Greenville, etc.

Clemson was ranked no. 1 party school a few years. no reason to go to Athens to party unless you have some friends there. Athens has more bars than Clemson but partying can occur anywhere even Bob Jones has parties.

reality is you can have fun at any college, it is more about being own your own for first time and with a lot of other people your age and studying something that interests you rather than the high school prison set up.

ATL has a lot more colleges. Thus it is more of a college town than Athens with 1 college.

key word being friends. they coming b/c they your friends, not because Athens is better.

I'm confident some UGA students go to Clemson to see friends too.

I wouldn't technically consider Baton Rouge to be a college town, but its a little different when the state capital is in the city as well.

Even though Austin, TX is a fantastic college atmosphere, IDK if I would technically consider it a college town just based on everything else that goes on there. I think of the music scene before I think of UTx.

When I think of Athens, on the other hand, I think of UGA. Gainesville, UF. KnoxVegas, UT. You get it (hopefully).

you honestly couldn't distinguish the qualify of degree from these 4 schools. And what does Arkansas have other than a good business school and I think poultry science?

There was this chick in my law school section a few years ago that graduated from Arkansas-Fayetteville. She was by far the dumbest person in the section. No one could understand a word she said. She couldn't even put sentences together. She failed out first semester, obviously. I'll just go ahead and say #59 is super generous.

Southern Poly doesn't exist anymore... And soon Perimeter won't either. Which neither was in Atlanta to begin with so I don't know why you brought them up.

what happened to southern poly?

I think both are in Atlanta metro?

Regardless, several colleges in downtown, also left out Emory and Mercer's ATL campus.
