“Landing on a barge at sea level is a great demonstration, but landing at 12 miles above sea level will make space flight more like taking a passenger jet,” she said.
“A freestanding space elevator tower for launching payloads, tourism, observation, scientific research and communications,” reads the abstract in the U.S. Pat. No. 9,085,897.

Not even if they stacked cash, hookers and blow at the top.

Nah I'm afraid of heights.

So am I, but I'm sure that if you fall from 12 MILES that you won't mind much by the time you hit the ground

I'd do it. I wouldn't want to be the first though.
Imagine that thing coming down

Can it be melted by jet fuel?

That's 63,360 feet high, far above where jets fly. No, I would not go up in it. However, a space tether is a different matter. I think that would be much more feasible, and definitely safer.

So it will be a bit chilly up there?

Hell yes where do I sign up.

Yes. Without a single moment's hesitation.

Maybe after it's been open for a while. Don't want to be the first
