Who do you think would do a better job? Hanks is the experienced solid choice here.

Colin Hanks

Seriously though, Tom H. had me moving towards that feeling we got when we watched that recent Mister Rogers documentary.

i mean, i get it, but hanks doesn't have the build or voice to suspend my belief for a 1.5-2 hour movie.

Was I the only one picturing Forrest Gump that entire trailer?

Forrest Gump as a dad always reminded me of Mr. Rogers. When he's sitting on the bench after seeing his boy off to school, he even kinda resembles Mr. Rogers posture.

I honestly was never a big fan of Mr Rogers, but damn this trailer makes me want to go see it.

Probably because the only person who could truly do Mr. Rogers was Mr. Rogers. I'm not speaking on hyperbole either, I'm serious.

Remember when Fox News tried to blame Mr. Rogers for the "participation trophy" culture because he said all kids were special?

Oh, and we can all blame an LSU professor for the study that led them down that path.

Seriously?

Looks interesting. He was an outspoken spiritual man, will see how they handle that. It's a taboo topic in hollywood.

I'm just seeing Tom Hanks. I don't see Fred Rogers apart from mimicking physical gestures.

And why the frick is he doing half a Forest Gump accent.

Fred Rogers wasn't Southern. He was a Yankee from Pennsylvania.

That trailer feels completely off note and misses the target...namely Mr. Rogers.

I think this will be a great movie.

These movies and documentaries really remind me that there aren't any personalities like that anymore. I grew up watching these shows and they really had an impact on my pov. From Steve Irwin teaching me to respect animals to Mr.Rogers teaching me to respect humans, it makes me miss those days.
