goofy second amendment debate
Yo Jesus, no debate about the 2nd amendment is goofy. Agree that they don't need guns though.

Win on Saturday and no one will give a shite about this.

No rights have been taken away. The second amendment says you have the right to bare arms but not how many or what kind. So him saying you can't have hand guns means, they can ever whatever other guns they want. Legally. Also if he had to make this rule that means that one of the football players had an incident in the past.

Im a big pro gun guy, but in this instance, this only makes things worse. You dont need 18 year olds who walk around like they own the campus(which a college football player already does)carrying a gun.

Most businesses have a code of conduct agreement. From Christian schools that have sexual standards for teachers to no alcohol policies for seminaries. It's completely legal to do both of those things, but one is willingly breaking their contract. I see nothing wrong with BO including it. we are miles away from a BYU honor code.

That question was asked to every coach on the call by one reporter. More than half the coaches said the same thing as BO, in that you can't have a handgun on campus. Stop trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
From a football team/University spokesman:
Our policy states that any player who has a legal issue, and if an illegal gun is involved in the issue, he is removed from the program. That’s what Barry was referring to when he said “not allowed within the program” – meaning illegal guns, that’s all.

Which is different than what was reported and differs a bit from what wiBO said.
I don't have a problem with the policy. I just wish the University was better at PR.

And I wish they were better at dealing with the SJW snowflakes.....like the Ohio St boss or the Uni of Chicago.

Do people actually believe there could be a team rule that states players can not own a hand gun?
Posted on 9/1/16 at 10:57 am to Tigersessed
Why couldn't there be?
There are tons of program rules. Many that prohibit things that are not illegal.

Kevin Sumlin and Dan Mullian have the same policy

You, as a citizen, have the right to have long hair, but why is no on freaking about Heupel making Lock cut his hair?
Coach makes the rules.
Coach makes the rules.

Any example of rules that prohibit Constitutional rights or will this be where everybody uses examples that are not related?
Is the head coach a public employee of the State or not? Does that make him a government employee? Don't State rights have to follow Federal rights when it clearly is detailed?
If you want to argue a head coach is not a public employee then you open a big conundrum regarding football taxation and are players students or employees.

So you're saying he can't make a rule against burning the flag, because that is against our Constitutional rights to free speech.
