Why can't we fire Anderson now?

Sure, he's a great guy and all, but I haven't given a shite about MU basketball since 2012.

That's just fricking sad.

Something's got to give here. I get that he was a bridge hire, but when do we declare the bridge completed?

Fire him now, get the coaching carousel started early. This guy isn't getting us anywhere, not now, not ever.

Enjoy your retirement Kim, thanks for everything.

If it was still a mix of his and Haith's guys, maybe.

But it's not.

First year with a full roster of guys that he made relationships with. Unlike football with so many recruits and recruiters, KA made personal relationships with each kid and their families.

The one primary objective for KA was to clean up the culture and give the next guy a clean slate to build on.

You remove him now and you risk the culture spinning out of control and losing the one thing that he's been able to succeed at, cleaning house.

That should be enough to justify keeping him till the end of the season.

But the guy should get a crack at conference play with a full roster of his guys.

There's no benefit during a coach less than a third of the way into the season.
Sterk can contact agents and gage interest with a sitting coach.
If this type of play continues Mizzou's season will end day 1 of SEC tournament, then move to fire him.

You guys are probably right, but with football being in rebuild mode, basketball sucking is really hitting home this year.

I never expected much given the circumstances, and I think Anderson has done as much as he can given all of the issues.

Hopefully, we call Gregg in April and get it done this time.

It will take 4-5 million a year to have a shot at Marshall.

I saw Jeff Boschee yesterday at our kids daycare. Maybe Mizzou will stay in the MIAA and hire him.

He would be cheap, not a lot of national recruiting experience, and not much head coaching experience.

Sounds like what Mizzou would be looking for in a head coach.

I guess the difference between him and KA would be age, where they played college ball and the players actually like him.

And your point is?

Look, the SEC is taint in basketball with the exception of U.K.

The last big hire in conference was Frank, let's spend some of our goddamn money and get the guy that gets us to a FF and maybe a NC.

I'm getting to fricking old for this shite.

Are we gonna shite or get off the pot?

It's gonna be 5 years in the SEC this summer.

SPEND THE frickING MONEY YOU PUSSIES.

I'm sick of the bullshite Mizzou excuses.

The SEC isn't that bad.
UK and Florida are the class of the league.
Auburn should be really good next year.
MSU is probably a year behind Auburn in their rebuild.

Now the bottom of the conference is really bad. TCU is the worst Big 12 team and their KenPom ranking is 51.

I'm with you.

Spending 4+ on a basketball coach is a great way to get a good return on the investment -- not just monetarily, but in terms of building the Mizzou brand which has net effects that go beyond how many basketball tickets and gear are sold.

We have the foundation with history, facilities, fanbase and local talent to make it work -- not everyone could have guaranteed success with the right coach, we have all the things needed to nearly guarantee it.

Even with money, the guy still has to want to be here.

Maybe he does.

Throw out a number, see if he bites.

Like Sleepy said, this isn't like football, we're pissing away some top notch facilities with this fricking nonsense.

So since you don't give a shite about BB then we should fire him? Well OK then.

I'm probably not the only one who feels that way, but since you seem to want to give Kim a reach around for his outstanding work, we should keep him.

Why?

To avoid looking as clueless as LSU.

I think hiring a D-2 coach to coach an SEC team already looked pretty clueless.
