You guys do realize Pinkel left the program in shambles, right? Pinkel only had like 3 guys from the 2015 recruiting class that played meaningful minutes their final year of eligibility.

I’m grateful for Coach Pinkel and everything he did in building a solid foundation for the program, but you are lying to yourself if you think BO took over an ideal situation.

Honestly, we are lucky to have BO. We literally had zero coaches interested in taking over our program.

No one thinks Odom took over an ideal
situation. He took over a much better program than Pinkel did.

Odom took over a program that was one year out from winning the east and had a good portion of this season's starters on it

What was a shambles was Odoms ability to build a staff

Shambles is such an over statement. I'll put it this way. GP took over a Pinto. BO took over a Corvette if Bama is a Ferrari.

BO still took over a losing situation. Not as bad as Pinkel. Probably similar to what Dino Babers took over at Syracuse. Barbers is 18-19 over 3 years.

This is completely false.

2015 players that played this year:

Terry Beckner Jr (Starter)
Terez Hall (Starter)
Jonathan Johnson (Starter)
Emmanuel Hall (Starter)
Drew Lock (Starter)
Corey Fatony (Starter)
Richaud Floyd
Ronnell Perkins (Started OSU game)
Cam Hilton (Starter)

But yea, just 3 guys right,

Pinkie took over a Pinto, Odom took over a Prius, if Bama is a escalade

You left off the redshirt seniors
Pendleton
Adams
Blanton

Of course if you have seniors they should be starters. The 2 classes before 2015 were probably more problematic. Harris being the only draft pick from those.

Syracuse was 4-8 the year before Babers was hired.
Mizzou went 5-7 the year before BO was hired.

Syracuse did play an easier schedule over the 3 seasons both were at their job.

I one season snapshot does not tell the whole tale, go back a couple more seasons. And then compare the league's they played in

Those don’t show the issues within the locker room that BO inherited. And the recruiting classes before 2015 that had significant turnover and Harris and Culkin as the only pros.

Either way it wasn’t a good ready to win situation.

Why do people use such exaggerated terms when talking about HCBO.

Of course Odom wasn't handed an "Ideal" situation. New coaches don't take over "Ideal" situations, that's the reason for new coaches.

"No one was interested" Where does this come from? Rhoades found his man and then shut things down once he got news about the Baylor opening. Rhule was going to be his "splash" hire. But instead he went to Baylor and took Rhule with him.

BO was a marginal head coach at first, but that isn't uncommon for first time defensive coaches. Ask Muschamp or Stoops at UK or Mason at Vandy. But he's found his footing, improved recruiting and fields a much better team. I'm happy with the guy as head coach, but I don't have to make it seem like he was in some untenable position coming to Mizzou. He sucked, He improved and if he keeps trending up, he's gonna do a hell of a job.

Rhule turned down the Mizzou job. He was offered top half of the SEC money.

WRONG!!!Rhule was always the target and he did not turn down the job. Rhoades never officially offered once he was a candidate for Baylor. How do you think Rhule quickly got the Baylor job. Rhoades had already vetted him.

If you follow coaching hires only the coach that takes the job is officially offered. Rhule turned down an unofficial offer from Mizzou for almost double what BO was paid.

Barry Odom was in the Mizzou system for a long time to learn about recruiting, hiring of coaching staffs, evaluate recruits, and learning how to be a head coach in general. I think it was like 11 years?

Not making it up. But if you don’t believe that Rhule walked away from a $5 million/year contract at Mizzou that’s on you.

Say that out loud and see if that makes any sense to you. And if it does, see a therapist right away. You guys should really join the flat earth society. They believe anything without question.
