I don't think he'd take the job.

I don't think Odom's ego would allow him to offer.

Other than that, perfect match.

I would be surprised if Strong wasn't a HC somewhere next season.

He might take a year off.

I would if I were getting that Texas buyout. But he could be a HC somewhere next year.

Hell, why not just make him the head coach?

He will still get most of his buyout if he's a HC next year.
Could be good for him to take the year as off. Spend lots of time traveling and meeting with various coaches. Unless a really good opportunity is available this offseason.

Why would we want a guy who couldn't win or recruit at Texas?

I'd be fine with him at DC, but as other have said there is no chance of that.

True, maybe Texas wasn't a good fit. Maybe he got lucky at Louisville.

It doesn't matter though because we aren't in the market for a new HC.

Maybe Mizzou can do better with literally ANYONE other than our current coaching staff.

I mean if he's ok being a DC, sign him up. Just not confident he Strong would do that.

Strong will be somewhere, next season..... Whether it be as DC or HC.. Like most others, I would welcome him as DC.... Just don't see it happening.

Agree......Odie will get the traditional, True Son 3 year deal..... His job is safe, no matter how many games he loses, or how bad his teams look losing them.

To date he has shown nothing, that says he's HC material.

+1

Tried to push the defensive switch too fast. Should have eased it in over the season versus the 100% switch. Hindsight is 20-20.

I would add - It is obvious that Pinkel did not leave Odom and his staff with the mentally- and emotionally strongest group of players.

I don't want to play that way, I want to chase the quarterback when I want to. I don't want to concentrate and catch a ball that hits my hands. I don't want to be disciplined and wrap up.

Odom obviously needs to recruit more team-oriented guys with a little stronger backbones.

Think Pinkel took too many big swings trying to catch up with SEC talent.

Didn't the entire 2012 class end up being a complete miss, except for Scherer?

I'd rather we go after Jim Leavitt. Hard to argue what he's doing at Colorado.

Leavitt played for Uncle Al, and a GA for Powers.

No, really good class, but many have graduated, 3 in NFL.

DGB, Golden and Boehm to NFL

Hansbrough graduated

Gibson, Culkin, Hatley, Scherer, Newsom still playing

Holifield, Brantley, Copelin, Stewart, Mauk were dismissed.

Williams, Winston, Cuffee, Boozer, Steward quit/xferd/retired
