With Drink, there was a certain "who?" reaction by most, and it was only after seeing how he carried himself and what job he was doing in his first year in games and in recruiting that people fell in love with the hire.
Drink had far more success than this AD. And it was still a reach hire. Not as much of a reach hire as this AD. Not all reach hires are bad. Some are home runs.
Time will tell.

It's your money so do what you want, but if you financed or were the matching donor on removing the track you would be a Mizzou folk hero. Just spitballin here.
Or bring the toy hauler and tailgate for a week every home game, not a bad option lol.
Folk hero status though with a plague in the stadium that says this track was removed by the generosity of El Segundo Guy and never having to pay for your beer at the game would be eternal.

The continued existence of the track is embarrassing. Dangerous. Tacky. Takes up space for no reason that could go to searing etc.

Isn't the track just kept around because of the fire truck?

Agree. I was just pointing out that someone who wanted to support the school is prudent to wait and make sure this is a good hire. Could be, but right now I don't see the justification for hiring her above more qualified candidates.

Looks like a great hire based on what I read, and saw of her in clips. She's a good speaker. She seems personable with a lot off energy. The exact opposite of Sterk, who was a stodgy white guy from the good old boys club, like me and most of us commenting. I could care less what race or sex she is. If she was the best candidate, hire her, and they did. Let's give her a chance to see what she can do, boys!

I just saw her interview on Finebaugm. She comes off as sincere and full of energy. I was against the hire but it looks like MU may have got this right after all.

She does seem energetic and wasn’t afraid to talk about brining home a championship. Can’t create that winning culture if you don’t have the balls to even entertain the idea.

Really tired of hearing this shite.
Remove the track. Plant hedges like half the other SEC teams do.
You CAN'T put seats there because they would be too low and the fricking football team stands the whole game so you wouldn't be able to see the game.
But you go ahead and buy the first set of season tickets in the new, lower section.

FWIW department: Talked to the boss today, he was on the search committee. Really excited about the hire and the direction of the program. But the key words were to the effect that a LOT more money was going to be spent in the coming years.

I'm all for hedges but open to any other ideas as well, the track does need to go. Player safety should be considered, we don't want something slippery or hard.

Dig out the damn track and cover the space with painted Astro Turf. The truck can drive on that just fine.
