Lovett will be a junior. It’s off to the NFL. With more NIL, he gets a safety net of cash in case of injury or ineffectiveness in the NFL. But more than that, as a rising junior, he’s goes to a likely more wide open offensive system. That means more NFL exposure. Bigger numbers and a better draft position.

Lovett is a college slot receiver. He tried to play on the outside, but was moved inside because he couldn’t beat the press coverage. Not a lot of college slot receivers go very high in the draft. Most slot receivers that get drafted very high played on the outside in college. Outside receivers can move inside, but it is very rare for a slot to move to the outside. Player’s play in the slot because they are usually not strong enough or fast enough or both to play on the outside. Lovett isn’t strong enough and Bannister wasn’t fast enough.

Most good NFL slot receivers are quick and strong and not always that fast. Cooper Kupp 4.62 and Keenan Allen 4.55.

There are exceptions like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and CeeDee Lamb that play all 3 WR position’s.

Lovett needs to bulk up to get drafted in the 3rd round and he still has 2 years to do it.

At Mizzou Lovett could get some playing time on the line, but if he transfers he will be stuck in the slot.

Unless he was promised to be the X receiver if he transferred. Then they will move him to slot when he gets there

Drunkwitz fricked us with his Cook love affair and shite offense.

Losing Lovett is a disaster. If Burden goes, Drink should be fired. There’s no recovery from a mass exodus on offense. You lose Burden, Lovett, Macon, and potentially Horn (Horn recruited Burden after all), then there’s nothing left on offense. You’re starting all the way over.

Yes. The TP and NIl shite is BS and needs amendments with the quickness or the top 15 programs can go into their own super league where they can’t poach smaller school players.

I’d expect a Drink defender to pop off with this. There’s no guarantee yet that only Lovett leaves and maybe it is only NIL money to leave but he’s very obviously been annoyed throughout the season with the poor offense.

Drink has to retain the talent that does come through. We get precious little of it consistently and he hasn’t shown to be able to develop low star guys like Pinkel yet.

NIL is what it is right now. Terrible coaching makes decisions easier.

There are many reasons why Lovett would want to leave. It might not be just about money or the offense he is in. Another reason that hasn’t been mentioned is that he doesn’t want to play with Burden. He will always be in his shadow no matter how good he plays.

He wants to be WR1 not WR2 or the slot receiver. He thinks if he moves on he can be WR1. Burden is the WR1 as long as he stays at Mizzou and Lovett will be in the slot.

Were you drunk, in a coma, or in prison last year?

Drink remade the entire defense via the portal.

You sound like another moron who thinks Horn should have started every game.

makes total sense that he'd go to Ohio State or another school to boost his NFL resume.

We cant build the resume of claiming to put guys into the league if once they get good, they leave for another school for one year and then get drafted. the school that just paid for his services for one year get to claim him. Hes going to the league regardless of where he plays next year.

Macon

He needs to transfer to a DII school; he's not a D1 QB and since you seriously don't like Cook, Macon is FAR worse than Cook.

You posting like a fiend in PoliTard Talk is what a disaster in slow motion looks like, but who am I to judge mental illness?

Eli’s rant about not trusting the process sure seems to indicate more than just money (though a big factor for sure). And I don’t blame Lovett. Eli’s offense has been terrible since he got here until proven otherwise.

Well that is false. Brought in some players? Yes but the majority of this year's defense were not from the portal.

CFB has unhindered free agency. That's what this is. If they don't rein it in, it will destroy anything we liked about cfb.

Damn dude did drink snowball your mom or sonething. I do not know how good a coach he is and either do you. I swear your few months here have been 99/9% post about how shitty Drink is. There is not many fans here bwing to the greatness of Drink but you make it sound like if you don't want him fired you are a fan boy.

Remade the defense =/= majority of the players.
We got guys like Jemigan, Hopper, and I think 2 other DL that rotated in regularly and did well. Hopper was our least replaceable player on the defense because of depth. We were very deep on the DL, and that allowed plenty of rotation of players. Can't remember if any of our secondary rotation came from the portal.

What remade the defense was Baker, not any of the players.

Disagree he was 100% of the difference. But I like him, and he did well with his pieces.
I predict if we don't get some good players from the portal like we did this year, some people will think he got dumb magically in the offseason.

You are one of the few that just decided to put the HC down are you really a Mizzou fan or you understand that Missouri isn't a top football program. That would prove that he is doing this the right way and will make some mistakes along the way. As a non-powerhouse football program that is normal and will improve and get to a point to be as good as Gary Pinkel or even better. I am thinking he could be a better HC than Gary Pinkel. We will see how he will do next year and the season after that. Give him time is the key to build a good football program.

Travion Ford transferring and Macon.

Macon not surprised. Sorry to see Ford go without seeing him play. Big recruit, but I think injury held him back. Not seeing why he couldn’t play next year.
