I have a feeling we are losing a WR or 2 once the transfer portal opens up. I’m saying this because we are offering multiple WRs that have just entered. Considering if no one leaves out of the STL kids, we would be solid at WR, that scares me. Burden, Mookie, Lovett, Miller is a super solid core but why go after transfer players unless one of them is leaving.

Multiple Mizzou players are going to hit the portal.

It is what it is.

Drink's goals should be to retain:

1. Burden
2. Horn
3. Jones

And go after:

1. RG, RT, LT
2. DT, DE
3. An actual OC

Bannister and Dove are graduating. We don’t know what Luper’s status is.

That’s down three WRs we expected to be contributing this year. None of our incoming WRs are high enough ranked to expect them to have serious immediate impact.

So, while we might get a couple WRs to the portal, I don’t think our offers in the portal are necessary evidence of that.

Lovett is just as important as Burden IMO, his ceiling isn’t as high but he’s already a very reliable top receiver whereas Burden has growing to do

I won’t be surprised if Jones goes

Same.

I get the experience aspect for playing Schrader but Jones showed the "it" factor in his touches.

I think Drink has a little of the Odom-Pinkel seniority bug in his personnel use.

Which confuses me when other squads put their 4*+ talent in games as soon as possible to get actual game reps.

Again, Drink coaches like a p*ssy so I shouldn't be surprised here.

Meh. Pinkel was much better about putting young players in a position to succeed. Franklin was used in a goal line TD push against #1 OU in a tight game for a go ahead score. The Tank was a true frosh that year wasn’t he?

Eli doesn’t have the balls for that kind of play.

His hands are certainly better at this point

Jones looks good, but he also has a fumble and dropped pass in limited touches, right?

The worst fumble of the year in P5 football didn't bench another player on our squad (no, I'm not referring to Peat).

But sure, 1 fumble and Jones doesn't deserve more touches.

So Drinkwitz’s statement aimed at someone on his team? I’m sure it is. The question is who.

Could be in response to a couple of Mom tweets

Not what I said. Merely that a young player who dropped a pass hitting his hands and fumbled, may have looked the same in practice and not earned game time in the coaches' eyes.
Peat got benched hard for his fumble.
The only person who hasn't taken a seat for losing the ball is Cook.

We're on the same page.

Drink applies a double standard if you "have heart".

It happens to most starters. Quarterback is the most important position. It isn't that simple to replace a starter than to put someone who isn't ready to be a starter. If anyone had a chance to be a starter than that might have been a different situation. Not worth to switch quarterback for every mistake each one make. That is dumb.
