Which is the opposite of what the athletic department says out of one side of their mouth.

Maybe they’re just talking too much. And if they’re talking too much, maybe there’s a reason for that.

The fans would have packed the liberty bowl.

The Gasparilla bowl will be empty.

As you stated, this isn't about the fans. It's about kids wanting to be home for Santa after playing in a warm bowl.

I surely hope they can squeeze in a trip to Disney. Think how happy the kids would be!

I'm sure you are a hardcore SOB. We've got team managers who are capable of giving you an atomic wedgy at the drop of a hat, so let's drop the "soft" talk chico.

Supposedly this was about keeping the 2025 game "special." Somehow the thought was if we play the bowl game then attendance will be down for the 2025 game.

I think all the excuses are BS. I think our AD overestimated her Vegas connections and thought she could deliver the Las Vegas Bowl. She envisioned a MU/KU Vegas Bowl. She touted the fact that the team can be home for Christmas. Even when asked which bowl he preferred, early on Drink said Vegas.

Then the AD didn't deliver, and we look bad.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone said to Drink that the fastest way to lose your job as Mizzou football coach is to lose to kU.

We are playing against a better team, at a better time, in a better city. Maybe all those things were true, I would still say we came out on top

Agree the excuses suck

However isn't the Vegas Bowl, Pack 12/SEC?

Both are right.

It's important to be eligible for recruiting and the extra practice time.

Winning the game is a bonus but not as critical. No one remembers who wins a minor bowl game 1 month after it's played.

Yes it is, but Oregon state at #17 could opt out for an "at large" game, which they probably do if it's Mizzou. Playing FL however is more cache.

It's just weird how Drink mentioned the Vegas bowl. But MU/KU in that bad arse dome and a destination city would have been epic.

That would be in Memphis! That is why Kansas and Arkansas got the one in Memphis. That Las Vegas Bowl wasn't going to be available for Mizzou and Kansas. No way it will be at that location. That is why Mizzou got the Tampa Bay Bowl than the Memphis Bowl. No way Memphis is an attractive one to go at that time and date. Plus, it isn't an appealing location at that date.

I know of 1 group of over 100 tiger fans, that were ready to head to Memphis. Probably another hundred or so total in 2 other groups.

Now ask me how many of those are heading to Tampa.

That would be 0

You sound foolish parroting the

"The Gas Bowl is more attractive" line

I went with a group of 8 in 2003 and 17 in 2005 to the Independence Bowl(shitty stadium). In 03 my tickets were on the Arkansas side and Pig Sooie drove me crazy. Not only did Mizzou lose, but I lost money at the Casino. It was at least 3 to 1 Arkansas fans and in the 05 game there was a few thousand more Mizzou fans against SC.

Mizzou fans don’t travel. It doesn’t matter if it was in Memphis or Tampa it would be about the same amount of Mizzou fans. I know at least 10 huge Mizzou fans in St Pete that will go and take people with them. Outside of Missouri there are probably more Mizzou fans in Florida and Texas than anywhere else.

If it was in Memphis I would go, but only a few on here would go.

One problem is why would you pay to go to bowl game when you could spend a little more and go to a Chiefs game.
