Ok. Who do you have for the next coach. Not who do you want, who is it going to be. You get one name. The winner will get $100,000 from Literalist's prize fund once his underwriters come through. Ties to be determined by a coin flip in the commissioner's office. Or my basement. One or the other.

I still don't think IU fires Crean

COU - Scott Drew(dammit)
Miz4ever - Mussleman (should be a superhero)
HeySus - Crean I guess
Wubly - Keatts
RemotelyStirred - Pitino (a bold pick)
Bass - is in the wrong thread
Jag - Crean
Literalist - Crean (still not a Baptist)
Semper - Keatts
Cruise - Marshall
CRDNLSCHMCPSN11 - pioneerbasketball or wstorie
JosieWales - Randy Bennett (another bold choice)
Ridge - Crean
SEC. 593 - Tony Bennett (never gonna happen)
WillStory - Crean
mizslu314 - Keatts
JayMill - Steve Forbes
Miz83 - Kelly Thames (I wonder if TT and Heysus would live through that?)

We need some out of the box thinkers, especially since we are not likely to wind up with someone on this list.

I have no idea. I still think Crean, but Musselman seems to be a strong pick too.

My guess is that Mizzou hires a P6 coach still. If not a P6 then I have heard more talk about Keatts than Musselman.

The Crean deal isn't dead. It's just mostly dead.

Sterk has a good list to work. We will be fine.

I'm having trouble making my pick since I saw a hacked, official request which was sent to Mizzou's search firm. To wit:

"Criteria for Missouri Basketball Coach"

Young white male, proven D-1 success with multiple Sweet Sixteen appearances (NCAA Championships a plus). Able to name 5 Hip Hop artists, avowed family man, and reasonably tall.

Other desired characteristics: Unknown to NCAA compliance folks, Loves media interviews, and has been awarded the Key to the City of East St. Louis.

Brown eyes acceptable if Baptist. Pay negotiable. No homosexuals, please.

A good job for the right candidate. Start immediately.

Well...or Crean. Yeah, Crean it is.

For some reason I'd forgotten that it would likely take 4.5-5 million to get Marshall.

Don't think Mizzou would go that high even if Marshall brought Christ along as his main assistant.

If Marshall and Crean are all but out of the picture.

Then I would hope Keatts would get a good look.. He's young, can recruit, and wins wherever he's been. ( so put me down for Keatts)

I would love to get some feedback on C Martin? looking at his meh record... What is it about this guy that's appealing?

The sell on Martin is more about his potential if he stays beyond 3 years.
With Martin Mizzou would for finish top half of the SEC almost immediately, that's his floor.

OK, that makes some sense... Because, "potential" was all I came up with.

I guess that's the same view for a Mussleman then?

I only ask, because I don't know the lessors like most of you here.

Also would you have a Keatts above a Musslemen or Martin, based on accomplishments, or not?

I would have Keatts and Musselman even, but probably give the edge to Keatts if hiring. Him being a little younger and Black would give him the advantage in trying to finally be able to recruit the east side of the state.
