Horn has to see some snaps against Vandy right? I can’t think of a good reason why he wouldn’t
Posted on 10/8/22 at 2:21 pm to mouse_cop
I don't want him in there for the sake of being in there. IF he knows the playbook and can run the offense then fine but throwing him in the fire could do a lot more harm than good.

I didn't watch this game but how was the coaching? Anything egregious?

Scoreboard should give you an idea. Give the team and coaches more time. It is going to get much better. Next year I would think so. Later the year it should get better but if injures piles up then more of the same we are seeing right now.

Two bad mistakes from cook, who otherwise had a decent game. Bad special teams really was a difference. Punts aren’t very good, and gave up a kick return.

The more I watch this team, the more I have no idea what Drinkwitzs playbook is. Cook cannot be depended on to consistently throw a decent pass past the line of scrimmage.
I need to see what he can do with a decent Quarterback. He won't even try Horn or Macon. Maybe there's a good reason for this, but damned if I know.
I would love to see SOMETHING or SOMEONE different. If we had an average college QB we'd be on a 3 game win streak.

There is simply no chance that Horn would be performing worse than Cook. You put him out there because he's our best option at QB. If he struggles it's fine, he's a freshman, he will adapt and become better. He doesn't need to know the playbook front to back, just let him throw some bombs to Dove and Lovett and it'll keep the defense honest

A game manager can’t give up two INTs.
The whole point of a game manager is that they don’t lose the game for you.
He’s a game manager without the management part. He has one TD in three SEC games and one TD in total against our 4 P5 opponents.
He’s thrown 5 INTs against P5 opponents.
1 TD to 5 INTs isn’t going to get the job done. Not even close.

Yet the score wasn't a blowout. Losing by a touchdown or less in the last 2 games against good two good teams isn't too bad. I think it gives Drinkwitz time to make adjustments for next year with different quarterback. I believe next year should be much better. At least the team is still playing competitive this year.

We lost. We’re 2-4. We’re 0-3 in the SEC.
There’s a non-zero chance we end the season 3-9.
This year is trending to a failure. And it’s going to destroy the narrative that Drink has been selling. And the fan support isn’t going to be built up by that.

I see it different. I see 5-7 or 6-6 record this year. The team did beat the spread two weeks in a row against two Georgia and Florida at Florida. That got to be feeling good with what the team done with a not so good quarterback. Give the team time to make the adjustments the rest of the year and next year. Why so down right now? Can't you see it isn't too bad right now even though the Auburn game should've been a win. I know you are upset with the 2-4 record. Let just think what a different quarterback can do for the team next year. I am glad the defense is playing a lot better. Maybe you are with some fans that want to win now when the situation isn't looking too good with this quarterback. Don't you think it is a good idea to wait until later this year to put Horn in or next year? I think that is the plan to save his eligible for the future and not get exposed by other teams when putting someone in that isn't ready yet to play in the SEC.

Who are the two good teams?
You don’t mean Florida, right?

Any time you play a much better talented team like Florida and at the swamp is tough. Drinkwitz isn't going to throw in the rookie quarterback to get killed and lose badly. There must be a reason for Horn is not playing right now. I like the way the team isn't getting blown out in the last two games and the next game should be a win since it is at Columbia. If you think this team will lose to Vandy then you really aren't very good at evaluation the team.
Oh, by the way I forgot Vandy will be playing UGA next week while Drinkwitz will be getting the team to focus on healing and getting the quarterback with Horn or Cook to get ready for Vandy in two weeks. That should be a good thing to have the bye week at the right time to heal up and prepare for the Vandy game for two weeks.

I didn’t say anything about Horn.
Florida isn’t going to finish in the top 25. This was yet another opportunity to change the trajectory of the season and the team and coach failed.
If you don’t think there’s a chance they lose to Vandy, you aren’t paying attention to the football and our the talents.

I just added that the team will be on a bye while Vandy will be playing UGA. That is a huge get to heal up and decide how the quarterback will be play out for the Vandy game in two weeks. I am still giving Drinkwitz time to get what he is trying to do to get the team to be competitive and should not lose the game against Vandy. That is not acceptable if that happens. That game is too important to make a turnaround to start winning games. Tennessee is the game I believe will be a loss to matter what.

Y'all are either blind or football dumb. All these rosy predictions...based on what???
Drink. Does. Not. Know. What. He. Is. Doing.

The games are close because we have half a team. No one needs to score a lot to beat us. If they get ahead, we've already lost the game. Play conservative offense, put everyone on the line and dare Cook to beat them.
And he cannot.
And he cannot.

That's dumb.
Horn is a legit 2 way athlete who will play in NFL or MLB.
He's not here in 3 years so why the heck wait?
Guys like him don't play to their senior year.
We're just lucky he wasn't drafted for baseball in top 3 rounds.
He has a solid spring on the bump and he might not be here next fall.
Just dumb.

This. We won’t beat Vandy with Cook at QB. Even if our defense plays well as they have been. Cook will either give Vandy 6 outright (as he did today with the Gators) or at least ensure they have good enough field position to get it done themselves.
I said after K-State, this season is over. Start building a team for 2023.

The game in its entirety was egregious.
to put it in a TLDR format, UF was completely inept in all 3 phases of the game and we still lost. That should tell you everything.
