Assuming we have a tourney...

How far do the Tigers make it? This team has had it's share
of tight games and know how to win ugly.

If they play solid D they could go on a sweet run!

Depends on the seeding. Need a really good seed to get a cakewalk in the 1st round. Get that and a focused team, and could be elite 8. Get a real challenge in the 1st round before they focus, and could see a Mississippi State type of meltdown.

I could see that if they can find away not to shite the bed for 7 minutes every game.. If not, as you said it could be over early.

This team COULD beat any team not named Baylor or Gonzaga. It could also lose to a lot of teams.

If they could just limit that long stretch of shite offense they have seemingly every game they could be really damn good. A lot of basketball score the tourney, hopefully they are peaking when it comes

I just want them to have a cakewalk in the first round so when they go into "sleep mode" Cuonzo can wake them without putting the game in jeopardy. That way Cuonzo can use it as a constant reminder the remainder of the tournament.

This is a solid, but not spectacular, veteran team that is capable of winning or losing against just about anyone on any given night. Nothing would shock me this year....anything from final 4 to first round loss is in the legit realm of possibility. Their tendency to forget how to score for long periods of time is what scares me the most and what will ultimately cost them in the tourney most likely.

I totally agree with you on everything you said except I think that teams start playing a matchup zone and locking them out of penetrating the post causing Mizzou to have to shoot 3's which is their kryptonite.

As much as I'd love to see this team make a run, I don't think they have the consistency in creating and scoring that it takes to win more than 2 games in the tourney.

We only have 1 guy who can consistently create opportunities, Pinson. He is hot/cold. Tilmon's effectiveness is dictated by how fouls get called. Our 3 ball is below average.

Now, all it takes is for one guy to get March Madness injected into his veins, and can carry teams to the promised land (see Walker, Kemba). If I had to bet right now, I'd bet on a first round exit more than a Sweet 16 run. (Seedings/brackets/matchups matter of course)

As long as we can stay on a 5 line or better, we should be ok to get the second round. Nothing is guaranteed, obviously.

Then it’s a coin flip game to get to the Elite 16 and another coin flip game to get to the Elite 8. Having lots of upperclassmen is going to be a huge plus.

I'm really hoping they don't end up in a region with Gonzaga or Baylor and a easy 1st round game...is that asking too much?
