Fifteen minutes to Columbia. Thrity end to end. Could handle 16-50,000+ passengers a day.

Could you see yourself using it to commute to games? And what price would you be willing to pay?

If it's such a GREAT and FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE endeavor, then NOT ONE PENNY of public money...PERIOD.

But it's not. It's dreamland...pie in the sky.

Kids wouldn't need to live in Columbia.

If your rent and utilities are greater than $600/mth, you could bring them home and cut costs.

Columbia protested high speed rail connecting KC to St. Louis. Not sure they'd be very excited about this either.

they've been talking like this is right around the corner for years now. The corner doesn't seem to be getting any closer

That's true. But also remember you can now live in much cheaper Columbia and work in STL or KC. Columbia would be receive the biggest benefit of the loop.

The problem with getting the loop is a Dallas-Houston Loop is one of the other proposals and that' a hell of a lot more people.

Well that's small time thinking.

Why does MO hate progress ?

I think so too (at the costs being floated), I was just throwing out for discussion.

Columbia didn't like the progress they were getting from the big cities.

It is an amazing idea. I don’t think it’s anywhere near 1) reality and 2) feasibility and 3) we’ll be last in line for it.

It really is unfortunate that there isn't a commuter rail line nearby the campus. You would have to make the trip to Jeff City to get to the nearest one. (or in the old days, Jeff City AND Moberly)
