This is a pretty rational expectation.

Some thick irony there.

I mean, I get it.

Top 4 in the SEC...Gasp! Shock and awe! Can't believe he said THAT!

Pretty out there stuff I know.

I agree with MIZ-COU. Lots of freshman talent..., but a lot of things have to come together to be better than a "good" college team.

I hope I am wrong and they win more than I expect.

Making the tournament would be an incredible first step. It's kind of hard to say that should be the expectation for a coach taking over a program that couldn't win more than 10 games with the last coach, but with the players he brought in, making the tourney might be a reasonable expectation.

Cuonzo underachieved at Tennessee? They hated his choice for HC from the beginning. And lets face it, Tennessee fan thinks everything they do is gold. What exactly is underachieving at Tennessee basketball. Only the ladies team matters. This is the same fanbase that ran off Fulmer, enough said.

He won 19 then 20 then 24 there. Most UT fans yearned for Pearl still. Others have an over-inflated sense of self. I suppose an argument could be made that he underachieved in the tourney. I suppose.

Here's the difference though. I'm not going to bury the guy and go on repeated "Zo sucks" rants if we don't.

If we win 10 games with this talent, will you say Zo sucks? I probably will. Kind of like BO winning 1 game makes him suck.

MPJ will probably win 10 games by himself

Expectation?

20-11

Reasonably:

23-8

Dream scenario:

25-6

Just from a quick glance at the schedule.

we'll probably have to forfeit if he plays by himself.

10 games?

Well yeah. I was speaking more if he didn't meet the expectations I had set.

There's a reason we are 6th in Vegas odds to win it all. Hopefully it's the perfect blend as the older guys want to win badly and are now seasoned. Influx of talent and players should be in their natural roles now. Puryear and Phillips for example can be very good complimentary players on a good team, but shouldn't be expected to be leading scorers. Now they won't be, MPJ immediately dropping 20 plus a game will do wonders. I just hope the team gels well and plays hard. Then let the chips fall where they may, teams are generally completely different come March and anything can happen there.

Nah, we'll be lucky to make the tournament.

Vegas is only setting Mizzou fans up for disappointment.

The odds are the result of the money coming in. I seriously doubt it was Missouri fans driving those odds.

that was one of my favorite Mizzou teams and I have a lot of respect for that team because they did a lot with less. They had 7 scholarship players and only 2 guys that were 6'8 and everybody else was 6'5 and under. They won 30 games with a 7 man rotation and a team full of guards. Those guys were tired and injured after winning the B8 tourney with wars against Baylor and Kansas.

No fan of CCM but it almost has to be top 2 finish in the SEC and a sweet 16 run at a minimum.

You don't like him, but believe he's done a good enough job without coaching a game to finish in the Top 20?
