Beau will probably have to move the sticks a couple of times in the first half as Moore works through his script and the interior oline figures out what SC is doing with the A Gaps. Does SC decide to cover Tollison or go a step further with a 3 DT look across the B Gaps like kU? Im not sure they are deep enough at DT to do that and with the way MU's line is improving every week it could put them in some bad spots setting the edge.

IMO the defense will dictate the success in this game, not the offense. Jacobs was not available for this game last year and I think he shows up big in this game on 3rd down. Batoon gives him the green light on passing downs and I don't think SCs oline can handle dealing with McClellan and Wilson and pick up Jacobs too. The play Sellers got hurt on was a missed pickup on a LB blitz. Jacobs can run circles around the guy that got home for Vandy.

I don't have the Louisiana game recorded to break down, but how do you see Wilson compared to Peagler?

I think Peagler was again the lowest rated starting olineman. He looks a step slow in the run game. He looked solid in pass pro. On the play that Beau threw the INT, the Canjuns put 2 LBs in the A Gaps. I assume that the LB between Tollison and Peagler was Roberts responsibility because Peagler let him go and Roberts picked him up. They blitzed the box safety and Peagler dumped him. I think he starting to see things better because most of the pressure came off the perimeter. If he keeps improving his size inside can help win games late, even if the technique isnt always there.

Wilson came in on the drive that Beau finished off with a rushing TD and he looks like he has better feet and can reach into the second level better. Wilson was in the game for Hardy's long TD run and on the drive before the half. He got a hat on the LB allowing Hardy to hit the second level untouched on the TD run and provided the cutback lane on Hardy's long run on 2nd and 8 with 2:50 left in the half. He made a couple of other blocks that helped them get inside the 10 for the FG before the half.

Wilson looks like a more polished player IMO.

You can watch it whenever you want on the ESPN app on your favorite TV device.

A good O-line has 7 quality pieces imo. The five starters obviously, but having an interior OL with Wilson's flexibility is very valuable. Maybe he should start, and he might eventually, but it's nice knowing you have him ready to go at either G or C.
As far as the 7th guy for a swing OT, Richardson has to be him by default at this point, unless one of the younger kids is making progress that we don't know about.

I appreciated your help the other day, but I couldn't execute the gameplan Saturday morning and watched a bootleg telecast on YouTube. Lol

I want the dbs to get better, I believe they can improve too. Lets be honest, those Kansas receivers dropped relatively easy catches, some of which weren't contested and if they were, it wasn't much.

Anything to Roberts only getting 8 carries?

Is it just how it played out with Hardy having such a crazy good game???

He had 85 total yds on 8 carries and 1 reception with a TD. He is making the most of his reps so far.

No argument here. I just did not hear his name much and then saw only 8 carries. Just seemed odd. Was worried there was an injury I had not heard about.

Roberts is making the running game much more of a 1A/1B attack than I was expecting. A very pleasant surprise.

Did you happen to see any of Drink's comments from the press conference today? Something stood out that I thought was interesting, only 1 player on the defensive side of the ball has seen 100 snaps so far, everyone else is under that.

Drink said, "Fresh horses run fast races."

Hopefully that means turning the front 7 loose on 3rd down and playing M2M and getting some turnovers

Id like to see more Cover Zero and Cover One on passing downs, but if they use the kU gameplan and allow 21 offensive pts again, Missouri wins. Strangle the run game and make them work the ball underneath. By taking away the big plays and forcing redzone attempts, it puts SC in their most inefficient part of the field. The back of the endzone takes away Harbor's best part of his game and they can't run the ball. Sellers can heave it long with the best of them but he hasn't shown that he can consistently place the ball accurately in the condensed part of the field from the pocket. Yes, TEs are going to make some plays. Its not always going to be pretty. In the end, I dont think Sellers having 30+ passing attempts is how SC wants to try to win games. He had 4 games with at least 30 attempts last year and SC went 1-3 in them. They were a Corey Flagg missed tackle away from going 0-4.

Or a Johnny Walker missed sack away from losing.
I agree. This game doesn't feel like we'll need to blitz the hell out of them to win. Make them execute, nothing cheap given up over our head, and our offense will put up significantly more points through 4 quarters.

I agree. I mean, looking at all things numbers -- I think if we execute on both sides of the ball like we can and should, this game will not be close.

The big play is how I see SC staying in the game. The Safeties are going to have to play disciplined ball, specifically Burks. He is going to have to trust the front 7 to do their jobs and keep a lid on the seams.

My only question is who runs with Harbor? We don't have great speed in the secondary. They have made him the #1 this year where he was a Norfleet type of TE/WR combo last year. Gonna need the safeties to be disciplined and help over the top. Can't be looking at the backfield on play action.

You're not wrong. They're going to need to be complete and total ball hawks back there. Hopefully the d-line can make Sellers or whoever is back there uncomfortable all night long.

Also, not unloading all of our ammo on SC might benefit us a few weeks down the road against Simpson and Bama, when we'll need all our rounds.
