I remember saying if we had a losing season that I wanted him blown out.

Believe it or not, I didn't eliminate the possibility of blowing him out until the fake punt tonight.

Now he's okay for another year or two.

Pinkels coaching decissions have gotten way better. I think all the stuff from last season has given Pinkel new found resolve.

You have to admit that last year Pinkel made many questionable decissions. Icing your own place kicker?

Pinkel has redeemed himself ten fold.

Checking in for a large portion of crow.

I do think the divorce probably put him at a mental disadvantage. It's rare for someone to go through a divorce and not have it affect their work.

He's had a phenomenal year. Great job, Pinks!

Yeah, I thought all the fire Pinkel talk was crap and short sighted. You don't fire a coach who rebuilt your program over one bad season. He has redeemed himself and should leave when he thinks it's time. He deserves to ride out into the sunset on his own terms. Probably in 3 to 4 years.

I'll eat my crow. Not so much before the season (by then I accepted it and pulled for him) but after the end of last year, I thought he had to go not just because of the season but because I feared him retiring after this year and wanted to just get the new head coach in place asap for recruiting purposes. Really doubted Pinkel's ability to compete in the SEC. Was dead wrong.

I think some credit has to be given to Henson too. We now run a spread but not a gimmicky spread. We play "Old man" spread. This team flat out plays football from the line to the skill players. Fun to watch.

Agreed.

I was way down on him after last season. But, accepted that he had earned a chance to turn it around. I also didn't think he would.

He stepped up and owned HIS program. He reclaimed what was his. Nothing but respect from me for that.

After this season the sole question will be: What do we name after him?

Not so fast. I was one who said I was done with him.
Hear me out, don't start typing a response yet. I said and still think he will never win a natty. I also think that has to be the goal. If that is not the goal in mind then we will never achieve greatness. I do not want to just make it to a conference championship game. I want to win it. I want to win it all.
Pinks is not the coach to do that. I want to get a coach who can and will.

With that being said what a friggin great season. Thanks pinks! Jumbo for you. Finish your contract. Let them build you a statue and ride your Harley into the sunset. We will hire the coach that can build on all your success and take us where we need to go.

If he gets us to Pasadena, will you get on a plane and come out here so we can go to the game?

Then I can watch you eat crow live and in person. Maybe we'll have a BBQ at the crib.

I will be alone as you know my wife and her control if any expenditures.
If we are eating BBQ in SoCal it damn well better come off your smoker since you say it is all shite in BBQ joints
