Instead of Nebraska, I feel like a better example would be to compare us to Iowa which is a perennial top 25 even top 15 team every other year. That's my expectation of Mizzou if they went into the Big 10.

Wrestling is also a problem for Oklahoma. And Oklahoma State and Iowa State and West Virginia.

Maybe SEC now having two premier wrestling schools will consider bringing it back. (I know, hope/prayer).

As far as division placement, seems a given by most that we move West and Alabama schools head East, which almost makes the East all original SEC and West the new kids.

Personally I want to stay East, because I'll be moving to Florida.

But our best hope is moving to four 4 team pods, and the creation of a northern pod of us, Kentucky, Tenn and Vanderbilt. But probably another hope/prayer.

Speaking of wrestling, there is no more screwed up conference than the Big12:

The four Big 12 member institutions (Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and West Virginia) along with eight affiliate members (Air Force, Fresno State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming)

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Mizzou has been accepted to join this happy bunch.

We won't get a north division like that, though it makes sense geographically. Pretty sure A&M doesn't want to be in the same pod with Texas, so we will take their place.

I think the SEC will want to restart this rivalry game.

If we are in the TAMU and Tejas pod then that helps us recruit in Tejas. We have had our best years with the Tejas players on our roster. Going after Georgia and Florida kids did not work out for us.

Do I want to see Tejas and OU every year again, MEH. But it is what it is.

At least if we are in a pod with Tu and OU, we will still play 2 teams from each other pod. So, it won't feel too B12-like. Probably be a brutal schedule every year though.

I would love a pod with kentucky arky and vandy but id oubt that happens. I’m just hoping for a pod with at least one of them. Us with Okie, ut and atm would be brutal.

I could see us in a pod with Arky, OU and Texas. Or Arky, A&M and Texas. I’m going to guess they don’t put Texas and A&M in the same pod, though.

Texas wouldn't be "brutal" and we already play Georgia and Florida every year, which I would say is harder in some regards than OU.

If we get put in a pod with OU, hopefully this happens next year and not 2025. I currently live about 1.5 hrs from Norman, but as of right now, we plan on moving from my farm by 2025.

Texas and A&M will still play every other year if we go pods. A&M got something for dropping any embarrassing legal actions and voting yes. Their choice of podmates was probably the reward.

Yes Mizzou is back in the Big 12 for wrestling next year. Wrestling is weird as invites to the NCAA Tournament are done through finishes in the conference tournaments. Each team needs to be in a viable conference. The Big 12 needed more teams after Mizzou left. Mizzou joined the MAC to have a conference.

Yeah, I understand reason for the Big 12's scattering of schools...and Mizzou's move to the MAC (and won't they be glad Mizzou moves!)

I used to often go watch our wrestlers and felt bad about the paltry crowd...and having been to a couple Iowa meets, the difference between the "haves" vs. the "have nots" was stunning.

But Smith has done real wonders in taking Mizzou from the dump...and into a damned competitive team.
