Looking at how the game is being called today, if only we had a quarterback who could throw downfield and get all those PI calls we're leaving on the field.

OL needs fixing and not ready yet. Next year shall get those fix and then wide receivers will get open with new ones playing with some experienced ones from this year. It is possible that a new quarterback will be playing next year. Just those few changes will make for very good team next year. I guess I can see it happening. Let hope the fans also see it too.

Outside of Bazelak every qb we have had over the last 25 years we would be 4-2 or 5-1 and 6-0 if we beat Georgia even with the line.

Corby Jones didn’t have the best arm, but he is a lot better than Bazelak or Cook. Kelly Bryant would be at least 4-2.

KB was on track to have a great season if he didn't screw up the locker room.

Just look around guys, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas are all ranked.

Tennessee just beat bama with our old OC.

3 years is plenty of time.

I think patience is a virtue, but the reality is we may be looking at our future. In this environment of the transfer portal, with a coach in his third year who has out recruited everyone but UGA in his division over the last two years, fans should expect something big.

We are debating the feel good moments of almost while our peers with coaches in their first two/three years are doing the minimum like winning on the road against FBS teams or the big like knocking off top 5 teams.

So the expectation is to take what you have and find a way to win 6 games period. You got your preseason excused guaranteed L out the way with UGA already. The mentality should be 6-0.

Odom didn’t leave much on the offensive side of the ball for Drink. I think Drink was able to make Badie the player he was.

Starting QB’s
Year 1. Bazelak
Year 2. Bazelak
Year 3. Cook

He has been able to do a good job recruiting, but QB is the position he had trouble getting a transfer.

QB recruit
Year 1. Cook
Odom offered him 15 months before signing day. Odom’s only QB recruit
Year 2. Tyler Macon
We don’t know how good he is yet. He is still a RS freshman. I think they offered him to get WR’s Lovett, Keontez Lewis, and Burden. He got 2 of the 3
Year 3. Horn
Horn is the QB of the future.

Drinks 1st full year of recruiting was the COVID year. Out of the 20 kids that signed 8 were from the St. Louis area and 2 were from Junior College. Both JRC players were trying to find a place to go late in their recruiting process. Both of them have transferred.

Last year was really his 1st full year and he got the High School QB he wanted. He was able to spend a lot of time recruiting and sell the program. Horn got to Mizzou late because of baseball or he would probably have been ready to play. Two months is not enough time for Horn to be ready.

Drinks offense needs a QB and he was not able to do that, because schools have been spending a year to 18 months with good QB recruits. Once these QB’s get on campus they are usually not ready their 1st year. He didn’t get the transfers he wanted, so he got Jack Abraham.

Drinkwitz tried to bring in a quarterback from the transfer portal but failed to get a good starter. But he does have one but for some reason he isn't using him. I respect his decision. Might play later this year. If not Next year if Cook doesn't improve down the stretch. I can see that is okay with me. Next year should be a good year.

I agree with you. Some posters on here are clueless and might not get a good grasp of the situation and can pointed out to other schools getting theirs in year 2 or 3. SEC isn't an easy conference for the offense to be great. Plus, Drinkwitz only has 3 full years as a HC. Let go back to Michigan HC. He was on a hot seat a few years ago. Not now. and got his team in the playoff last year. Might make another run for it this year.

Did you just compare Brady Cook to James fricking Franklin

Cook is not even in the same stratosphere as a healthy Franklin:

That's like comparing Drink to HCGP.

You guys act like he's Corbin Berstresser.

Corbin Berkstresser was better.

CB was never QB1. He started 4 games his RS Freshman year when Franklin was hurt and went 2-2 with losses to #1 Alabama and #5 Texas A&M. Against Alabama the team rushed for 3 yards and against A&M he threw for 276 and was the 2nd leading rusher with 33 yards.

Berks Sophomore year he was 3rd string QB. His Junior year he saw no action and his Senior year he played special teams.

I would rather have him over Cook or Bazelak. I don’t think you remember CB. He played behind good QB’s Franklin, Mauk, and Lock.

You really do not want to be a part of this team. Might as well go over to support Kansas or Illinois. I am giving Drinkwitz time, and he deserved it and I still believe he will turn the team around soon. It isn't like he was getting blown out most games. The players aren't quitting on him.

Let’s bump this thread and reevaluate after the SC win.

KY is only a 2 point favorite right now.

We might get to 7 wins depending on the Arky game. Because if the defense stays stout and Cook plays within his abilities- I think KY and NMST are wins.

Arkansas hangs 30 or more points on teams routinely. The offense may have to break the 30 point barrier to get a win.

Best chance to get to 6-6 is against Kentucky this Saturday.
A tall order but doable.

UK will be about the same difficulty as USC. That said Arky will be much tougher because their weakness is something we still don't have the talent to overcome - passing.

KY is pretty mediocre. I expect to win that game. Probably by double digits. It’s a good matchup for us. They might be without Rodriguez and we are going to beat Levis up.

Arky isn’t anything special either, but as was mentioned above the matchup isn’t as favorable. This game is obviously winnable though

He left the Tennessee game and didn’t return but I just looked and he’s listed as the starter on their depth chart for this week.
