You think Ish Witter ran for 1000 yds because of "rah rah" blocking in front of him?

I liked the counter/trap and power blocking Davis brought to the team but to suggest Missouri wasn't a technically sound blocking team under Elarbee is obtuse.

Having the coOC title justifies the money required to lure a coach away. Elarbee would a quality addition to the staff.

I will let Drinkwitz decide if Elarbee would be a quality addition to the staff. I would let him make what ever is best for Mizzou and himself. If he does hire Elarbee that would be fine with me. As long as Drinkwitz make the decision! I have liked all the hired so far. Arkansas have made some hired that will be a good challenge to Mizzou. I still think Mizzou will still beat Arkansas. Got to stay focus and positive and support Drinkwitz, staff, and the players.
Key thing I am seeing is Drinkwitz is looking for someone that can recruit better players than the ones Barry Odom have recruited over the year. Yes some of them were good but not good enough overall. Got to step up in order to compete with UGA, Florida, and the rest of the SEC that have been on top or near the top in recruiting class yearly. I do not expect him to do it in one year but show improvement over the years and get to top 20. That is what Barry Odom failed to do.

I am wondering who were at fault for not protecting the QB that got the quarterback hurt that may ended his football career? Also notice UCF recruiting is not that good. I last saw it was like 2.6 average star ratings. That is also a clue to see if the coaching staff have not been recruiting 3 stars or better. Heupel took over Frost team and did great then when he got his in it was below average players. That is what you got to look at the recruiting class.

UCF had the highest rated class in their conference last year and could end up 2nd after Feb.

Rivals have UCF at 2.61 average star rating for the class of 2020 so far. Mizzou is at 3.00 average star rating. How can that be? UCF? They should be getting 3 stars and higher!

That's a G5 conference. What you suggest is never going to happen.

Elarbee did bolt with Heupel to UCF. That is another reason not to want him back at Mizzou. He cannot be trusted.

Sounds like an outstanding hire.

Love this comment below the tweet.

The next week should be interesting. I still haven't heard much about the OL and WR coaching candidates. I would think the HC wants his staff together well in advance of the ending of the winter dead period (1/16/2020).

I'm ready-ready for the OL hire.

Matter was on 590 Monday and speculated he may still be involved in a bowl game.

I hope I'm wrong but to me the delay feels like he didn't get one of his top choices and is going to have to settle for a retread or someone from a far-flung outpost with no ties to the SEC.

I don't know about you guys but as much as I want to see Mizzou cave in Mark Stoops' ferret face, I love how he's made Ohio a northern outpost of his recruiting turf for kids who want to be in the SEC instead of the B1G. I'd love to see a similar approach by Mizzou to grab offensive linemen in Iowa.

I found this article interesting on how Iowa recruits OLinemen with a background in wrestling. It makes sense given how hand play and leverage are a major factor in both.

Guess what I'm saying is if Drink gets an OL coach with roots in Iowa I may not be too disappointed

Drink is reportedly working to hire Bush Hamdan. Would presumably coach WRs. Bush was the OC at Washington under Chris Peterson.

Per Pete Thamel:

Source: Missouri is hiring former Washington assistant Bush Hamdan as an assistant coach. Hamdan and Eliah Drinkwitz worked together at Arkansas State.

Had been OC and QB Coach at UW. Previous stops include one year as QB coach for the Atlanta Falcons and one year as WR coach at Florida.

He and Drink were co-coordinators at ASU and he did a good job with Washington's WRs. John Ross and Dante Pettis stepped in and were very productive in 2016. He has moved around a bunch though.

He could end up being a solid WR recruiter. In his one year as an active WR recruiter he landed three 4* recruits and one high 3*.
