So you think he put together a pretty solid staff? I think he did, but you know more about this than I do.

Keeping Walters and not retaining Hargreaves are the two staff decisions he has made that I find questionable. My opinion on Walters is no secret and I thought Hargreaves did a solid job using a RSFr and a true Fr to replace a guy that was having an All American season.

Otherwise, Drink has added guys that have been solid recruiters and position coaches. Most of them have coordinating experience.

Navy I agree with you, but it seems to me that Walters may be the better recruiter over Hargreaves, but for the record, I hate to see Hargreaves go.

I am impressed with Marcus Johnson and I like the way he recruits as well, come signing day we may pick up some surprises because he knows Mississippi, Louisana, and Texas pretty well.

Good. That should save the AD some money.

Exactly. Was hoping he'd find a new home elsewhere

He was making 900k at Mizzou. An NFL assistant has to worth 500k-600k I would think.

Coach D makes an interesting hire from Arkansas.

quote:

GREENWOOD, Ark. (KFSM) - Rick Jones built Greenwood into one of the premier football programs in the state of Arkansas but after eight state titles he's headed to the SEC. Jones will be a senior consultant to the head coach at Missouri for Eli Drinkwitz, who is an Arkansas native. Drinkwitz was hired at Missouri in December.

During his tenure with the Bulldogs, Jones led Greenwood to eight state title, three runner-up finishes and compiled a record of 185-26. Jones had been the head coach of the Bulldogs since 2004. Greenwood had a pair of three-peat runs under Jones as they won titles in 2005-2007 and then again 2010-12. Jones also led the Bulldogs to back to back titles in 2017 and 2018 while he had runner up finishes in 2004, 2015 and 2016.

One thing I see it might be needed to help with high school recruits. That can help Missouri against Arkansas in recruiting locally and elsewhere. Drinkwitz might be picking him up to be a future Missouri coach on his staff next year or two.
Is he a defensive minded coach or an offensive minded one?
