Haha that guy kills me. Some of those people need to adopt modern PR tactics. If you're going to talk about shite like aliens on tv, comb your damn hair. Instead he tries to look as much like 'that guy' that would be talking about aliens.

I love that guy. He's on Coast2Coast a lot.
But yeah, you are spot on, spot on my friend.

I know you guys are just playing around about the world ending.. But it's a pet peeve of mine (I'm sure it's annoying) but I gotta tell people that the Mayans never predicted the end of the world. The date 12/21/2012 marks some incredible astrological events that will be happening. When the world doesn't end they'll all be saying the Mayans were wrong, but actually they accurately charted astrological events thousands of years in advance, with the precision of an atomic clock. We know without a doubt that the Mayans were accurate. The galactic alignment is proven to happen, the sun will go through the dark rift of our Milky Way on 12/21. This is the result of the precession of the equinox which is a cycle that completes every 26,000 years. The Mayans saw 12/21 as the end of an age, not the end of the world. It marks the beginning of a new age. I know it's annoying when I go on these tangents, just a pet peeve of mine when people talk about the world ending. As for MU, if we hire Andy Hill and let Henson leave I'll wish the world will end. That is the worst case scenario. At this point, let's just hire Henson and see if this staff can save itself next year.
I agree a full 100% with this posts accuracy and truth.
The Mayans predict no disaster to end the world, it is a product of the Doomsday channel(everyone knows this as the History Channel).
It would be a big mistake to let Henson out the door at this point. The more I think about it, the more I'm glad Chaney ended up in hogville USA. Henson has also coached in the SEC prior to Mizzou, knows what it will take to win, can recruit, and has been on the staff of a winning program LSU. So if anyone knows how to get us there, it would be Henson.

I just hope the majority of the fan base see's it like you do jafo, that is right on. (I'll bet everyone freaks out though). But at this point it's the right move. And it may have been the right move all along (I'm growing to think we did the right thing with passing on Chaney. Just not the right place and right time).
And thanks for backin' me on the Mayans, haha.

Either way we're all riding along on the Pinkel express. I had never thought of Henson in the way I'm looking at him as a possible OC now. I was stuck in the "gotta hire an outside guy" rut like alot of fans. At one point, I thought it was going to happen, all signs pointed at Chaney. Everything was lining up.....then it happened. Thank you Arkansas! An they paid this guy $550 a year.
Hey, the Mayan info you gave is for real man. I'm not up on all that but I do know enough that the Mayans will not be our downfall......we will be our own downfall. Fact. Unless that asteroid gets alittle too close. Or that supergiant tranforms into a nice little Gamma-ray.

Jim Henson it is.
I've always loved the Muppets.

Mogray, you watch doomsday preppers? Interesting what these folks do and think in reguards to the end of the world.
Have you ever seen the movie, "The Road"? It's an apocalypes movie but is alittle more in my mind of how things might wind up. It is alittle disturbing though.

Dude, those preppers.
I'm convinced those types perpetuate the whole self-fulfilling prophecy thing. Anytime something crazy happens those types will be out there trying to shoot "peace disturbers".

Seriously, I do wonder what it all means, this "end of an age" thing.

I'm just not exactly sure what this means. A new age astrologically? What is expected to occur?
I know the Mayans were incredibly accurate with their calendars. I'm just puzzled about what, exactly, they saw happening on 12/21/12.
And I'd truly hate to lose either Hill or Henson, as I believe they are our two best recruiters. Alden has already washed his hands and given GP enough rope to hang himself. Just promote one of them and be done with it.

Meet our new coaching staff...

Has anyone ever considered that perhaps the Mayans simply said, "frick it. I'm done with this 'long count' shite. Takes too long to carve these rocks. I quit."
Posted on 12/13/12 at 9:29 pm to mizzoukills
Perhaps the Mayans have predicted who our next OC will be.
Somebody call this guy and ask...

I hear what you're saying and don't disagree. I think I am done saying any of these guys can recruit though. We are still only ahead of Kentucky as far as our class goes. Start landing kids that put us at least in the middle of the pack and then I'll start saying the guy, or anyone else on the staff, can recruit.

Why is everyone still speculating. I'm wayyyy past that, to me it's all become a gigantic joke.

Haven't seen an episode of this show, but I've seen advertisements for it..
And I haven't seen The Road. It looks like the book is highly regarded, I might have to check into this story..
I'm not sure how much loading up an underground bunker with supplies is really going to do if things do go crazy. But (as I'm sure you know) there are plenty of things to be somewhat concerned about.
One of my biggest ones is solar shots from the sun.. that is a real issue. A good one could knock out our power for years, they say. One shot off the sun not too long ago that would have really screwed us up, but it shot in a different direction.
I can't ignore the old Naval maps that predict where I'm currently sitting will be under water sometime in the near future.. If it happens it happens I guess..
Also, apparently we know for a fact that a rock bigger than the Rose Bowl will hit earth in the 2036 (I think)... it will pass through our atmosphere in 2029 (I think). It will travel under our satellites... they'll be able to tell from the trajectory in 2029 where it will hit earth. (This is from the mouth of NASA, not some random guy).
