And I don’t wanna hear any bitching and moaning from the “we need it for recruiting” crowd.

That turf was in a sorry arse state of disrepair. It’s over 13 years old with no maintenance, was stretched to hell and back, and is still like playing on concrete.

That shite is too dangerous to return to unless Mizzou demands they fix that shite before playing there again.

That dingy dungeon looked miserable on TV and probably worse in person.

Find anywhere else in The Lou. I don’t care if it’s the 22K soccer stadium. That’d be a better venue.

The turf can be replaced, but sure, let’s give up a true home field advantage (7-0 all time) for a venue that has beaker and purple stench. Some of you don’t remember how Mizzou experienced a rebirth that led to a permanent spot in the SEC.

I see no reason for them to not figure out how to bring Busch Stadium into the equation.

It’s a bad venue

Think our record in the Dome is 7-0 though

We’re 6-1 in Arrowhead

Correct me if I’m wrong

I was thinking the same thing.

And everything about Ballpark Village crushes the atmosphere around the Dome, including parking and safety.

Yeah we can’t do that again. Playing games in a dump is a bad look and potential safety concern with that turf. Don’t care if we are 10000-0 there.

This is not a St. Louis- KC thing, which for some odd reason a couple folks here are trying to make it such.

The fact is the place is a shithole. Whether in STL, KC or the moon. Loyalty to a city doesn’t change that fact.

Busch III wasn’t made to host football nor soccer games.

The soccer venue is too small. The only viable options are busch or to force the dome to upgrade its playing surface. I would not bring my kids to play there ever again unless that happens.

Wrigley was the former home of the Bears and DePaul when they had football. Big difference.

They've already played football in the new Busch, so it's doable.

New Busch was original venue but needed more than 48 hours to get ready since the cardinals played Thursday... Dome was only option

If you think DeWitt is going to allow the field to get torn up like it was in 2013, then I don’t know what to tell you.

However, depending on the Cards being in contention again, they could squeeze in an OOC game in late October-early November. Bama played Citadel in Citadel in Nov of last season or before, so it can be done….but it’s all moot, because I don’t see Mizzou football playing in St. Louis again for a long time if ever.

Upgrades are under consideration. It's the same turf the Battlehawks play on. And I haven't heard any of their players complain about it getting hurt on it. Someone who runs the place said it gets maintenance. Busch Stadium couldn't be used because of a scheduling conflict with the Cardinals.

quote:

Officials responsible for upkeep of the Dome at America's Center say they're discussing possible upgrades to the facility's turf playing surface after fans took to social media to complain about its appearance during Saturday's Mizzou football game against Memphis.

quote:

Brian Hall, a spokesman for Explore St. Louis, the regional tourism entity that manages the Dome and the America's Center convention facilities, said in a statement that "the AstroTurf in the Dome is in good quality and receives regular maintenance."
