Gubleman and Cantleberry took turns throwing meat. Terrible start to the getaway game.

After falling behind 7-0, the bats came alive in the 3rd to tie the game. UT took the lead in the 7th but MU scored 3 in the 8th to make it 10-8. Sikkema nailed down the final two frames for the win. Gomez hit two out of the yard.

Next weekend is going to be tough sledding.

Kind of a bizarre game and I'll take it!!! Another series win against a ranked team.

You're right. Next week will be tough. Getting 1 win on the weekend will be a victory. Anything more would be amazing.

This weekend I think secures making the SEC tourney and all but in the NCAA's.

Swept by #5 Arky
Took 2 of 3 from #13 Ole Miss
1-1-1 with #14 A&M
Took 2 of 3 from #12 LSU
Got swept by #9 UGA
Won 2 of 3 from unranked UK
Swept unranked SC
Won 2 of 3 against a top 25 UT

Pretty solid SEC play. If we could have won 1 against Arky and 1 against UGA, we'd probably be somewhere close to the top 10. Winning that 3rd game against A&M instead of the T would have almost guaranteed it.

The Tigers evened the series today vs Vandy. Taking the rubber match and the series tomorrow would be huge.

Taking one game was huge. Winning the series would be insane. Not only have they played themselves into the NCAA tourney but not have a possibility at hosting a regional.

Sikemma was solid today but was really impressed with Bedell. Held one of the best offensive teams in the country to 2 runs. Impressive.

Dropped the rubber match and the series. It would really help if LaPlante was available.

Take 2 of 3 from Florida and we are sitting pretty. Its been a great season. Hat tip for HC Steve Bieser. He has done an incredible job.

He really has. They are playing well in nearly all aspects of the game.

I am really hoping LaPlante is back for the tourney. I haven't heard anything to suggest one way or the other but pitching depth is such a necessity in both tourneys. It will be interesting to see if he continues with the rotation as is or if he throws Sikemma in game 1 of the tourney.

If they host a regional, me and the son are talking about heading down there for it.

I'd look for him to pitch the series by committee and save Sikkema for the opening game of the SECT. Having TJ try to go deep in a Saturday game with only 3 days rest before the opening round on the 21st wouldn't make much sense.

So Sikemma, Cantlebury and then by committee in a game 3 if we get that far? Talking about in the tourney.

Also, I wonder if it would make more sense to throw Sikemma on Friday if you plan on him being the game 1 starter.

I'd let Joven, Ash, and Gubleman eat as many innings as possible this weekend.

Poor showing this weekend, especially on offense. Need to win two in Hoover to lock up a regional

Offense was putrid. Beiser was bad. Just not good all the way around. Went from potentially hosting a regional if you had won the rubber game against Vandy to making the tourney to now probably being on the outside looking in.

Getting swept by UF some years is not an embarrassment. This year it is.

The 1-5 hitters are going to have to be better than the 7 hits they scattered the last 3 games. Misner's approach has been questionable at best all season.

Misner has been an overall disappointment all year. Both offensively and defensively. He might still get drafted in the 1st round but he didn't play like it in any facet.

I agree about the hitting, but I still don't get why the hell you start Ash but still throw Cantlebury 4 innings in game 1. Ash puts us in a hole and the Cantlebury holds them but too little too late. Do what the frick got you there and that wasn't Ash starting. That's on Beiser, along with a good number of in game decisions/calls.

It is due to the BO osmosis.

Florida threw meat all season and the batters made them look like the 95 Braves. I don't mind what Beiser tried to do with with the arms.
