He did suck. Best player on last years team is akin to being the tallest midget.

That's fair. He did perform poorly. He was also the best player on the team after our Shooting Point Guard.

He'd be a really good player in a supporting role, but not so much when he's supposed to carry the team. Unfortunately, i'm thinking the same can be said for almost everyone on our team.

By the time he is a senior he will be good enough to carry a team & average 18 & 10. As a sophomore with not much help he wasn't skilled enough to carry a team, consistently.

I agree with that. If he's the fourth option on your team he'd do fine in that role. If he's the "best" player on your team you have a 9 win season.

I do think he could help this team simply because of the lack of interior players but I'd be concerned about KA trying to cast him as a lead scorer again and he's just not that.

If he'd stayed, we would've heard "JW3 - team leader in rebounding and points - will only be getting better." Since he left, we are left to pretend he sucked.

Exactly this. Reality is that he was the best player on the team last year. Also happens that that doesn't mean a whole lot. Reality is that, while maybe not the best player, the one with the most raw talent was Teki, but again, doesn't mean a whole lot. Plus his back made that a non-issue.

I am glad JW3 left....never liked him. Such an overrated player.

Wes Clark was the best player last year, not JW3. Nobody who turns it over 8 times in one game and attempts to do things they can't over and over again is the best player on the team, regardless of stats.

All of that could be true. But I think that's more of a reflection of how bad the team was last year than anything else because there wasn't anyone else better really.

I like Wes Clark. Solid argument can be made for him.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Arkansas game where CKA had JW3 as a PF bring the ball up against pressure. Yeah. That was all on JW3. :eye roll:

Go back and watch the game. JW3 didn't turn it over bringing the ball up the court. Most of his turnovers came in half court sets where he was trying to "be the man" on the perimeter.

How many occurred in bringing the ball up?
How many occurred as the shot clock was winding down and the offense had generated nothing?

So I see you have no proof.

There's half a dozen articles out there which mention JW3 bringing up the ball unsuccessfully for the game. I'm sure those guys made it up. I didn't find a video of the entire game.

RockMNation had a little blurb about the scrimmage.
Creighton had told Mizzou going in that it wanted to work on its man defense. The teams were basically even, until the last 10 minutes when Creighton changes to a press that falls back into a 2-3 zone. Mizzou's players didn't handle it well. Got blown out from that point.
Mizzou's best line up is when it goes small with
Gant & Puryear at Forward
Clark at SG
Phillips/Isabel at PG
Wright/Walton on the wing.
PG & Wing players are almost neck in neck when it comes to playing.
The coaches really like this freshman class.

And last year, they said the same thing.
