I grossly over estimated this team. I thought they could be an NIT team. They are 2 years away from that. 3-5 years from a tourney run under a different coach. I don't think that Kim will get the time he needs to rebuild this program. I can't say that I would disagree. My first pick after Marshall was Ben Howland ( who said on 810 that he would have taken the job if MU called). I'm not mad about Andrson but I expected better from him so far. Time will tell they should beat IL and State depending on who shows up.

Listening to Bill Walton and Roxy Bernstein talk about the Missouri River was more entertaining than the game. And how does some guy get named "Roxy"?

Most of the game reminded me of the Harlem Globtrotters playing the Washington Generals. Arizona made it look easy. I just don't see KA making it. He doesn't recruit well, he doesn't seem to coach well.

I liked them.Too bad I never got to see Jill Savage though.I'd still be pissed if someone tried to name me "Roxy" though.

That was really the first time I have ever watched Pac 12 Network.Still don't know if DirecTV ever picked it up.

I helped to get a thread with a half page potential to three pages. My work is done here. Time to cry into a beer or two.

Team would be better under Quinn Snyder. At least they would have an offense and better recruits.

I think Mizzou is 2 years away from being in contention for the NCAA. But unless KA figures out a way to beat some P5 teams he won't be here after the season. The loss is not surprising, but the beat downs have to end.

I used to think that that was a realistic expectation. I just am not sold that it will happen at this point. Beat some P5 schools and I am more than happy to change my mind. Beating the UMKC's of the world is certainly better than losing to them, but we're still not even destroying them like we should.

What leads you to believe this?

We are going to finish the season as the lowest ranked P5 team again this year (almost certainly) in the KenPom. Just like last year.

I have no idea now what the answer even is. The next coach will have to come in with a wrecking ball and some dynamite.

The only answer at this point is replacing KA. There is enough talent in this state to make this team relevant. Have to keep instate players here. After watching last year and this year, it proves to me KA is in waaayyy over his head. Problem is, who would want to come here to coach? KA has not only driven the car into the ditch, he's hit the gas pedal and now it's heading straight towards the cliff.

There are 2 things that lead me to believe this.
1. Historical evidence shows that experience is hugely important in success in college hoops. Right now Mizzou is the 14th least experienced team in the country. But in 2 years you could have upperclassmen in Gant, Wright, Puryear, Phillips, & Walton.

2. Size & strength is the thing that gives this team the most trouble. Size is coming next year. Give those players a year of experience & develop in a college weight program. Then that should address that weakness.

A third reason is that KAs first full recruiting class is this freshman class. So just maybe he knows how to identify talent. And the 2016 & 2017 classes aren't done. There are regional talents not named Michael Porter that can help this team.

1) if we have 3 or 4 transfers out, we'll be the 14th youngest team in the country again next year.
2) there are plenty of experienced crappy teams, it's not a forward predictor of success.

Strength isn't coming next year. And size is kinda coming, but not really. It's freshman size. And we'll then be told how young we are inside.

We really only have one size guy coming in Nikko, who doesn't play AAU and only averages 9ppg in HS. Smith is a faceup 4 who I've heard described as a worse shooting Jankovich. So don't expect him to go inside and bang, he's more of a float around the 3pt line kind of guy. And Jackson is another Puryear, good player but at 6'6 is too small to play a P5 PF.

KA can't recruit for shite, and be obviously can't coach a lick either. What players have gotten better under him? He needs to go asap. Worst thing that could happen is we bring him back next year as it delays any success that much further. And he's going to cost us Porter. The dudes a cancer.
