Said it before and will say it again, we're gonna lose some games if we're playing Geist and CVL. Count this as one of them.

Overall, against a pretty damn good WVU team, it was a good showing. For 4/5 of a game at least.

As for CM...when Jontay and Tillman both had 4, I would have left Tillman on the floor so that you had Jontay down the stretch. He brought Jontay in and he fouled out with like a minute and half left. Would have preferred it the other way around.

Probably wouldn't have mattered. So what's it grade out to? 4/5 gets an A and 1/5 gets an F.

I think you guys are reading too much into this.

WVU is a bad matchup for us with their style. There are not a ton of teams that play like them. Carter dominated Geist and Phillips on the defensive end. If there is a better defensive guard in the country, I have not seen him.

We'll be fine.

Yes. But also we were up 16 with 8 minutes left and lost by 4.

Then don't.

Chill dude.

It can't all be hair on fire emotion. I appreciate it, but look at the game. Listen to what Fraschilla said. That's exactly how it played out.

Their strength hit our weakness square, but again there are few teams that can play like that.

Basketball is a long season.

CM said before the season that he needed a point guard, plus foul trouble and youth killed them down the stretch. I honestly think that Mizzou has the better team. Anybody else notices that when a Mizzou player is inbounding the ball he doesn't get much help from his teammates?

They all run to the corner which makes the trap incredibly easy.

Losing a game like this is what keeps bubble teams out of the tournament. This game should have been a win. When they weren’t turning the ball over, I would have liked to see the guards attack the basket more to foul Carter out.

The refs weren’t calling a fifth foul on Carter if he pulled out a gun and shot someone.

It would’ve been huge to win the game for our tournament chances. Don’t think it hurts us. We’ve avoided bad losses so far. That’s the first step for this young team.

I have been watching a few games and especially the bluebloods and a lot of them are having problems with youth just like our Tigers. Give them some time to play together. I predicted them to go 17-15 with MJP, because of youth, new coach and system, and players that were leftover from a bad team.

Be PATIENT!

The guards, as a group, just aren't very good. Robertson is a quality player, but the rest have some serious limitations. Good news is that Harris has the ability, he just needs to reach it. That will be key for him, we need him to take hold of the position. Geist and Phillips are just always going to be bit players.

I'm just hoping Harris grows up and matures sooner rather than later.

Is Roberts gone after this year?

"I think you guys are reading too much into this."

It's hard to read too much into blowing a 16 point lead with 2 minutes left.

Good match up or bad. WVU was down 16 with 2 minutes left.

So it's not reading too much into a game that we had locked down then blew out our arse.

Like most agree. This is a young team that will blow games out their arse like this from time to time.

Geist lost the game.

That technical was ridiculous, and then missed free throws down the stretch.

WVU scored 30 at the line.

Embarrassing way to close the game.

Missouri has an exceptionally young team and you'll have a few collapses like that. Yeah, it was a bad way to lose the game and y'all need to alter your lineup because some guys are getting way too many minutes for their skill level.

That having been said by January most of the kids will be up to speed and I think Mizzou will be playing much better. Even with MPJ gone there is quite a bit of talent on this team. As deep as the SEC looks this year if Missouri plays well in conference you've got a very good shot at making the NCAAT.

But they weren't...they were down 16 with about 8 minutes left; they'd closed it to within one possession with a couple of minutes left (or something close there).

I was pretty crushed by how they lost it; you essentially have to go several possessions without getting a shot off to lose like that, and they managed to. But they're really young, and despite getting their arse handed to them by A&M, WVU is a really good basketball team and will give teams fits all year. It would have been a great win, but it wasn't a loss that will hurt their profile at all come March.

The only thing I would have done would have been to try Phillips and Geist on the floor at the same time if you weren't going to give Harris a shot there...maybe with two OK ball handlers you could have gotten it across half-court? Realistically, if they would have gotten the ball to half-court and just sat on it for 30 seconds each possession they probably would have won.

But yeah, catching the ball in the corner between the baseline and sideline is pretty much Basketball 101 on how not to inbound the ball vs. a press.
