So realize the competition has been light for the first 4 games ...

But it is a lot of fun to watch a team play consistently good offensive basketball again. On the defensive side, too many reach in fouls and dumb fouls away from the basket ...

But seeing the team average 90+ points per game to start 4-0 is a lot more entertaining than the product we suffered through the past 5-7 years ...

This team has sleeper potential to finish Top 4 in the SEC this season ...

My favorite part is we’ve had 4 different players have massive games in the first 4 games and that’s not even including our best player in Mosely who is slowly carving a role on this team.

I’m scared to fall in love with this team but they about got me.

Highly unlikely.

I think our ceiling is around a couple games over .500. We are going to struggle mightily against the SEC rebounding and size.

But I agree that it’s so much more fun to watch.

Have they given Gates a raise and extension yet?

This, we are going to bet bullied in the paint all season. Its gonna be painful at times, but at least our offense and speed in transition is moving in the right direction. I'm guessing it will be a 3 year rebuild until we are top half of the SEC, if we don't find big men in the transfer portal. Obviously, the transfer portal can speed that up to next year.

Fair enough.

It's at least nice to recruit kids who can actually shoot, distribute off the dribble and score more than 60 a game.

Though if we get hot and the other team goes cold (see Michigan State taking down Kentucky last night) ...

Yeah, it's a lot more fun to watch. Hey Eli, hear that? Offense is fun to watch. Who knew!

I haven't watched a game yet.

Good to hear though. I will check in once they win a few that matter. It's still football season.

Agree. Looks like we finally have a coach who is worried more about playing good ball and winning vs. being a social services director.

That puts you in spitting distance of a NCAA tourney bid. Win a couple of games in the SEC tourney, maybe knock off a Kentucky or Arkansas in the regular season...

If you want to fix what ails you in basketball make the Big Dance.

The defense has gotten better each game out from what I have seen. They were lost on rotations to start the year but have started cleaning that up quite a bit.

Agree 808. Fun to watch but size will get them. I have to imagine Gates really thought he had that over 7 foot kid out of WKU. That would have really rounded out the team.

We have three players from last year and two of them suck (and aren’t playing). It’s a 100% roster turnover.

You can actually see Gates building to something. And we have 3 4*s coming next year.

A center or legit PF away from being a very good team. Deep at 1-4

They're proving tonight that they can defend and rebound when called on.

Coach Gates ...
