Last night could be the beginning of the end

Odom is losing, or has lost, this team. The postgame comments from Castillo are extremely telling as is the lack of overall give a frick we’ve seen the last few weeks. He’s officially lost the majority of the fanbase and our already piss poor attendance will get that much worse. This is all extremely difficult to recover from and there won’t be any hype (deservedly so) for this team going into next year. We’ll be lucky to win 6 or 7 games and that’s just a disaster considering this schedule.
His seat is going to be flaming hot next year though. I don’t think 6 wins next year is going to be acceptable. He’s going to have to turn in a good year that exceeds expectations with no fan support. It’s extremely difficult to foresee this happening. So it won’t happen today, but if (when) it happens in the near future last night will be the game that essentially sealed his fate.

Will he still love you long time?

Listening to Barry after the game, he gave me the impression that he just doesn't know what the frick to do.
And I agree that there's something going on that doesn't meet the eye. Our players aren't horrible athletes...they're just playing like they are.

Ford is still a coach on this team for christs sake.
You have a mediocre/poor coaching staff, with a clueless head coach, it's a recipe for disaster.

Yeah, I mean we’ll always blame the coaches after every loss. This is nothing new or unique to Mizzou fans. Of course it’s not that simple, and we all know that but it’s the easy way out.
The good news for a lot of you is that I believe last night nearly sealed his fate and you’re going to get your wish. He’s basically going to have 1 last chance with a decked stacked heavily against him. The bad news is we’ll very likely be right back here in 2/3 more years.

Unless they lose them all Barry's not getting fired.
He can always point to the loss of Garrett and Bryant being compromised.
So can you give us a cliff notes of what he said or a link to the post-game if they're handy?

Castillo? He basically said that there were guys on the team who were not taking care of business or making wise decisions off the field. Points to somewhat of a fractured locker room which makes a lot of sense of course with the shite sandwich we’ve been fed this past two weeks

IMO what you're seeing is why KB lost his job to a true freshman.
Kelly is just terrible at:
Making the decision to throw downfield & by downfield I mean any throw 15 yds or more
Actually making downfield throws
Not looking off the receiver
He picks 1 or 2 guys to throw the ball to all night
I'm willing to bet he makes up his mind before the ball is snapped
Oh yeah Kam Scott sucks arse
ETA: this is an extremely undisciplined team and that falls on Barry and the other coaches

Discipline is a recurring issue with MU through Odom's tenure. That is on him and his coaching staff.
Penalties have been a problem in every bad loss he has had this season. Maybe his entire tenure at MU.
Do discipline issues play a part in the regression we have seen this year?
Simms, Johnson, Rountree, any of the receivers outside of Nance, Albert O, Parker. Not only have they not built on last season's performance, they have gotten worse.
And I don't know that it falls in the team rules discipline issue, but it is definitely a matter of personal discipline.
I am weary of our secondary players jumping up to celebrate an incompletion, even when the receiver simply dropped it or the pass was off the mark. Even worse when this is happening when MU is down 2-3 scores.

This might actually be an AD level issue and not just an Odom problem.

I find it hard to believe that these guys aren't open a lot during the games.

There are a bunch of people to blame and usually we all want Odom's head around here, which I can't argue with but I see the biggest issue with Dooley. He's regressing as a play caller and let's be honest, he was never that great to begin with. I still can't get over how he was the receiver's coach for the Cowboys.

Only once during the KY can I remember them replaying the receivers running their routes and the only time they did, both receivers were WIDE open and Kelly dumps it down to back.

Missouri gave Kentucky a touchdown at the end of the half which was pretty much sealed the victory for Kentucky. This is mind boggling!

I’m not sure what his issue is, but Infind it very hard to believe that nobody is EVER open downfield.
He holds onto the ball WAY too long. He’s a decent college QB, but he certainly has his warts and his confidence is probably about shot at this point. It doesn’t really matter though because this season is over and he’s a 1 year player. The KB era will be a forgettable one, and a lot of that (not all) will be because he didn’t play very well.

Wow! That was awesome! This might get Odom fired at the end of the year!

this is not nearly the quality of MS2 talking to his alter all night until they both got banned

Agree....was I the only one that noticed that the entire demeanor of the offense changed when Powell went in? No we didn't have any sustained drives or scored but it seemed like there was a definite uptick in energy.

I agree. The team may hate Bryant.
Posted on 10/29/19 at 8:58 am to the808bass
I wonder if Bryant barked at the Oline after getting hurt? Simms was blocking on an RPO that Bryant pulled the ball out on to make a throw to Knox when he got hurt. By the play design, he blocked it correctly. While they pulled together for Homecoming, it has been an entirely different offensive product the last two games.
