It appears that MM has "favorited" a couple of tweets that bash Drew AND the fans after the FL game.

quote:

Mauk's account favorited two tweets that were pointing fun at Mizzou fans who wanted Mauk replaced with backup quarterback Drew Lock

Sour grapes. I'm not surprised given his immaturity, and it shows he's learned nothing from this suspension. He should be worried about himself and his own future, not what's being said on Twitter.

Not a good move if he wants out of Pinkel's doghouse. But I dot expect to ever see him play for Mizzou again anyway, so I'm. It sure it matters.

I think you're missing the point. MM needs to focus on himself.

Anyone with a brain knew Lock would struggle some, especially agains a defense like Florida's. But it certainly wasn't all his fault. It didn't matter who the QB was, IMO.

We're not assessing the validity of the tweets, just wanted opinions on MM "favoriting" them.

Here's something MM NEVER understood; when fans boo it's because they think you're better than the way you're playing.

But look at it from his perspective. We've had proof the past 2 games that it was truly shitty Oline and receiver play that has limited us on offense.

Getting booed for something that may or may not have been your fault can be infuriating. You can't deny that alot of people were pointing at Mauk as the problem.

He shouldn't have put the team in this position in the first place, but he has deleted the favorites now.

Kids make mistakes, and alot of fans have been more harsh than need be on Mauk. Heck, some might have even damaged him for his life after football without facts. A drug reputation can really F up job prospects after college given his stature, and that might not even be what he is suspended over.

I'm inclined to give him a pass considering everything that has happened.

Receiver play the last 2 weeks hasn't been bad. Really only 1 dropped pass.
The OL had its best game against USC and maybe it's worst against Florida.
QB play is only part of the offensive problem. But so to is the fact that the only skill position player with much experience is RH, & he hasn't been healthy this year.

I have no problem in him pointing out a few people who say he wasn't the problem. His ego was prolly pretty damaged after the sc game. I can only imagine how many incompletions he would have had against that fl secondary. The fault of the game wasn't on lock but on henson.

My take is that a couple months back he was a rock star. Now he's isolated, no one knows where he is or what he's doing.

A big step down ego-wise...and he HAS an ego!

Another immature move by a troubled kid.

You are right...

And I still believe Lock should have played over Mauk. Outside of scrambling and trying to create a play against Florida I see no real advantage with Mauk. I personally think we may have lost against USCe if we played him over Lock.

One glaring reason he is not a team captain. Immaturity. I think we have to remember people will not always do the right thing. Also, you're still dealing with kids. That's what seperates MM from Lock. The maturity. Given time, Lock will make people forget there ever was an MM.

The real question is would Mizzou only have 1 loss if Lock starts against Kentucky.
Kentucky, USC, & UCONN all had the same basic defensive strategy against Mizzou. Cover deep, dare Mizzou to take and move the ball via the short passing game.

My take is that I'm surprised he can get on Twitter from rehab.

And I'll take it a step further and say that the media shouldn't be allowed around any athlete/coach until 1 hour after the game; gives everyone time to cool off and decompress.

You can never undo anything on the internet; I'm not giving him a pass on this one. It appears that he wants all of us to feel sympathy for him because of his Dad but he seems to be going out of his way to troll us.

And, by the way, who knows what REALLY was the cause for the suspension?

And if Drew Lock would have publicly negatively critiqued Maty's performance in his last 12 games, he wouldn't have been wrong. He'd also have been a shitty teammate.

So I guess you're saying you're ok with Maty being a shitty teammate.

Bingo. It's back to immaturity and ego. There is a reason he was not voted a team captain.

The first tweet Mauk favorited during the game, though, was one about how Lock was making great plays that MM couldn't and that this was a different offense with Lock.

So Mauk was favoriting not just tweets from the Lock-taunting Mizzou fans but also a tweet basically saying Lock ruled and Mauk sucked.

My takeaway is that Mauk was just favoriting any tweets he saw that mentioned him, regardless of if they were favorable to him or unfavorable. Not a wise move, because the media got hold of it and both they and the public started making assumptions.

But the only thing I can gather from the seemingly conflicting messages of the tweets Mauk favorited is that Mauk is used to being in the spotlight, whether good or bad, and he was favoriting anything and everything that mentioned him because part of him still wants that spotlight on him that he's so used to. You can't, though, say he was "agreeing" with the two later mean tweets toward Lock, any more than you can say he was "agreeing" with the earlier tweet he favorited that was pro-Lock and anti-Mauk.

Inception...what if they were accidental favorites?

Happens to me all the time when I scroll on my phone.
