Well, that's about 5 gals of gasoline thrown on the dumpster fire.
I spent all day yesterday hoping that there would be a news release from COMO that Pinkel had come to his senses and fired Henson and Ricker.
Instead, the exact opposite happened.
Now I'm hoping Pinkel will go after the Miami job and take his entourage with him. Hey, wouldn't Missy look good strutting her stuff on South Beach?

Maybe his time of reflection helped him and he comes out here slinging TD's and put this team on his back....
Lock is obviously the QB of the future. However, I think this offense clicks better with Mauk for one reason and one reason only. The fact he can at least make plays with his feet aka run for his frickin life... Honestly, I would have liked to see what Zanders could have done. I heard the guy is fast as shite. Why not throw him in for a couple of plays and just have that dude take off down field when the line broke?
At what point do we just start running every play out of the punt formation and have fatony run the goddamn ball?

Just beautiful!
We know what we have in Mauk. He wins some, he loses some.
Lock is playing like a freshman.
Worthless O-Line - largest problem and no change. WDWWD.
Not playing Hunt and Abbington - WDWWD. :banghead:

Sometimes, I think GP is an idiot.

Wow. I had started to think the suspension was permanent. IMO, this makes a disaster worse because you have a qb controversy added to the mix. Just. Wow.
The question, to me, is whether Mauk gets the playing time and manages, with his feet, to make Ricker and Henson look better.

Very good question indeed.

Yeah...but honestly, I don't think we would make a bowl if Mauk stays suspended. At least this breathes some sort of new life into the team. Not making a bowl would be devastating...and now we are at least getting options to MAYBE get 2 more wins.

I will be shocked if this team makes a bowl.
I know Lock is a freshman and playing like one. But I believe that is as much on Henson and Ricker as on Lock. If they give playing time to Mauk, and he makes running plays that work, it could bail them out of the boiling water their poor coaching has them (and the team) in right now. And I still want them to feel that heat.

Mauk is going to work very hard this bye week. He'll deliver his famous "WTF play". Scramble the wrong way then throw-off the wrong foot across the field into double coverage. I can hardly wait! It's coming!

Probably for a pick-6.
Ugh. Just... Ugh.

Or a miracle thing they call a "touch-down". Or perhaps the coveted "first down".
I like it. Maty Mauk, coming back with a vengeance has a nice ring to it.

Well this is truly interesting news.
It's also shite news.
I was hoping to god Lock would get a full week and a half to get on the same page as Leftwich and the other receivers. Now no one knows who the frick is going to be throwing passes. This is a Pinkel move if I've ever seen one.
"Oh well he deserves a shot to start again"

Does anyone think GP was pressured into reinstating Maty? The new AD at work perhaps?
I love conspiracies and this one is as good as any.

Mauk should be 4th string

Well Gabe D says he's be surprised if Mauk starts next Thursday.
We shall see, but I won't be surprised at all of he does.

A source close to the situation:
"Fatony in at RB. Mauk is at right guard, Boehm at WR. Henry the #1 Tuba in Marching Mizzou in at Left tackle."
More changes to come, depending how they practice.

RG - big improvement over Mitch "Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane" Hall. Welcome to the real SEC, Maty.
WR - on short routes...he's money.
LT - as long as the tuba is part of the position, I'm all in. He can swing it! Plus, he occupies space.
Eight games in, PROGRESS finally!

I don't even know how to react. Based on rumors & whatnot, I didn't think he'd be back so my mind is downshifting right now.
Since the drug rumors probably aren't true, let's say it was missing a team meeting/practice or having an all-out screaming match with GP or Henson or another coach; doesn't he deserve a shot at starting since he paid for his 'crime'? FWIW, I haven't answered this in my own head yet but we did welcome back everybody else that's ever been suspended didn't we?
