Critiquing a play isn’t throwing players under the bus. If you had played any sport in college you would know that.
Ooops. I actually did.
And guess what...I never had a coach throw me under the bus even when I clearly screwed the pooch. Not to the media anyways. In the room? With the team? With him? Watching film? Sure. But not to the public. Valiant effort though.

I would have run in that situation, but that’s not the only type of play that works in that situation.
You're right. We could have also thrown the ball 40 yards down field. It could have worked too.
Go listen to that BO interview. He tries to defend the play call. But begins to stutter and stammer when he realizes that UK not having to burn a time out helped them out. Took him 48 hours but I think it finally dawned on him why you run the ball there.

You know this is critical because it effect recruiting! If recruiters see that it was on Barry Odom on that play, then that will turn away recruits.
Anyway, Odom lost to rank teams and South Carolina is the lone un ranked team. So 3 lost to top 12? That is saying we need to fire Barry Odom because Missouri could have beaten a top 12 team and one that was a good team but not ranked in the top 25 yet. I am telling you Missouri did play a lot better than last year and the scores have been a lot closer and was winnable games. Last year was blow out lost and was not even winnable. So If Missouri ended up going 7-5 or 8-4 and that one lost was a close game and I would give him another year. If Missouri continue blow games next year and go 7-5 then he should be gone then.

Barry Odom is now 0-9 vs Georgia, Kentucky, and USC.

So? He is getting closer to getting a win. I said next year if he does not get the win and blow it again or get blown out then he should be fired. If he goes 7-5 or 8-4 got to give him another year and if same results or worst then he need to go. Do not fire a coach that is showing improvement and almost won some games and last year was a lot worst. So never a good idea to fire a coach unless you find a sure home run hire. Look at A&M lost this past weekend. Also got to find someone who wants to stay at Missouri and not jump ship. That is the hard part to find that guy. Right now you do not fire Barry Odom for showing improvement over last year.

You're comparing Jimbo Fischer to Odom?

Kim was a stubborn bitch too. Odom really is Kim Anderson 2.0

I actually have no problem with it. I hate that players are "never" held accountable. It's like they're babies that always need to be protected. Its actually exactly what's wrong with this country.

You don’t hold players accountable on an interview with a shill. You hold players accountable in the locker room.
If Drew Lock said “I thought the call was stupid, but I gotta go with what Coach says,” we’d lose our mind and we should.

Where do you honestly see improvement amongst this program? From my view, there are so many egregious errors that this staff should own and a few are below:
1. Recognizing Lock's inability to understand pressure and slow decision making. Lock has admitted that he still has trouble understanding speeding up his internal clock due to Dooley relying less on max protection. Huepel masked deficiencies by having Lock go with pre-snap reads to one part of the field, flooding only 2-3 eligible receivers to different levels of the field. When all else failed, chuck it deep.
2. Not utilizing talent to their full capabilities. The preparation heading into USCe focused on not letting Deebo get the ball in his hands on kick-offs and etc. When all it takes was our kicker to kick the ball into the endzone. Early in the game, Champ is not telling his returners to take a kick off from 3-5 yards deep in the end zone out and you can see that on the film against other teams. That alone was a 10-14 point swing because of being cute. Especially from a coach who reiterates "I love what I have in my locker room".
3. Recognizing in game clock situations. Against USCe, our defense ran this 2 man defensive front dropping 9 in coverage to no avail. There was still a catch due to a missed assignment in the seam. OK, lets learn from that. Against UK, why not run the same scheme when in this situation you are ok giving up a seam throw with 9 seconds left and no timeouts? In this instance we are ok giving up the 30 yard pass because time still has to run.
I can go on and on.

Wow...listen from 7:15 onward: "they would have used their timeout, so the one thing we didn't...the one thing we lost there obviously if we ran the ball and didn't get the first down, they're gonna use their timeout anyway.
With us stopping the clock with throwing the ball an incomplete pass they didn't have to burn their timeout...that's day one install of a play we put in and rehearsed one million times."
It's like he doesn't realize how important the fact of UK not having to burn that timeout is.

Did you know Barry Odom got his team to play toe to toe to a 12 rank team? Missouri did play better than last year. Heupel was a huge bust due to failed to beat a rank team and did not get the offense to score points when playing good defense? This year Missouri is on a learning curve due to new OC. So Missouri should have score on Offense much better than last year? I am not sure you get it about when Barry Odom have limited choice and have gotten the team to play a lot better than last year. I am not sure what team you saw this year that was the same as last year? I know he did made some questionable calls. If Barry Odom goes 7-5 or 8-4 he gets another year. If fans continue to attack Odom and recruits hear about it and see the fans wants Odom gone then Missouri will fail due to fans being bad and treated Odom unfairly. Got to support him. Next year let it play out. If Odom goes 7-5 again but show no improvement then he should be let go. Not this year for showing improvement and fight to try to win in almost every game. Negative vibes is going to scare away recruits and get Missouri players to under perform. Next year is a good year to make or break. Not this year unless fans destroyed Odom and his chance to land key recruits. That will means there will be many more years of the same . That will bring more trouble for years to come at Missouri. Also some of you enjoy seeing Odom fail and wants him fired at the end of this year or even before the end of the year. That is sick!

You are basically starting your response off with a contradiction.

1. Good coaches puts their players in positions to not just compete, but to win games. Do you know how bad of a coach you have to be to not have a win against a power 5 team with a winning record in two years?
Tennessee will accomplish this feat in year one and will probably beat us when we visit Knoxville.
Mississippi St. and Florida are light years ahead of us in just year one.
2. Why do you think we are devoid of talent?
We had seven players on this team voted to the All-SEC preseason roster by coaches, which is in the top 5 of this conference.
By every metric available, Barry Odom has shown no progress. He is literally 1-18 against teams with a winning record, not ranked teams, but teams that can at least do what we do and have a soft non-con and find 2 wins against weaker teams.

Who has Tennessee beat that will finish the year with a winning record? Auburn is likely to finish 6-6.
