I was actually encouraged today. It’s just frustrating to watch a poorly mentally-prepared team waste a solid effort.

This is the difference between winners and losers JQ. You're happy with keeping it close.

I'm pissed off we let a winnable game get away by SELF INFLICTED wounds.

I don't feel good when we "put forth a good effort". That's shite you tell a 6 year old.

Mizzou lost this game today because they play poor fundamental football and have since Odom took over, PERIOD.

You all talk about how we don't have the talent to compete. Maybe you're right, but you know how you even up that a little on the field? You play better fundamentally. Something Mizzou seems incapable of doing in big games under Odom.

2016, Mizzou up by 6. Lock throws a stupid pass for a pick. Georgia scores on blown coverage. Moore fumbles away the last hope to win.

It's a broken fricking record.

I agree. Some things to be really encouraged by... Defense definitely played better. Secondary was much better than Purdue game at least. Remove the turnovers and they played a very even game with Georgia who is a great team. Purdue also killed BC today. BC isn't great but they were ranked.

The turnovers and "sloppy" play killed us. That is pretty frustrating. Pinkel ran a very fundamentally solid team and right now we just aren't.

Sparks and Acy both allowed unnecessary TDs. Hardeman took a young SS to the woodshed on the first play of the 4th qtr. Those are plays they have to keep in front of them. The defense did a decent job otherwise.

They should have let Knox get reps in place of Hall. He at least stood a chance of getting behind a defender.

I assume Hall is just bothered by the injury? Announcers were guessing that was the issue. I didn't see how many snaps he was taking... was he playing the whole game b/c they didn't seem to be even targeting him?

He took several reps and couldn't get by his defender. That CB is a stud but a healthy Hall changes over the top help and makes room for the slot and TE. I would have given Knox a chance to take the top off. He can block his position and wasn't limping.

According to Odom Brown was also not 100%.

They needed to play a clean game to win and didn't. Hall limping all game long was a poor decision by Ofodile IMO as well.

That was stupid football. It was plain as day he was a decoy. Kid could hardly move effectively. Why they didn’t go with Kam Scott to add more size out there for jumpball chain moving throws is beyond me.

I’m also disappointed we didn’t send the TEs down the seams into the middle more.

I’m more pissed that the chances were there to steal a game and drop 40+ on UGA than a blowout loss.

Drops galore. Ugh. I miss that 2013-14 unit.

Odom helped fixed the D though. Doubt we’ll ever fix that leaky strainer of a secondary but the front 7 looked much better and got into the backfield. We’d have blown Purdue out had this D shown up.

If we can survive Bama without injury I’ll few good about an 8+ season.

I mean, you're just going to have to acknowledge that we played the number 2 team in the country. They played kind of sloppy to you know.

Happy? Moral victory? frick no. I just don't have my hair on fire about losing to a team that is significantly better than us.

And let's not act like Georgia didn't force a lot of those mistakes. They stole the ball from AO. They knocked the ball out of Lock's hands. In other words, they all weren't completely unforced. The blocked punt, the pick? Yeah those are on us. Georgia is really freaking good. Good teams force you into errors. That's how they win.

It sucks we lost, but I'm not upset about the way we played. We were beat. The result is pretty accurate. They are probably 10-15 points better than us.

It's really difficult to get a bunch of college kids to play a perfect game. Rarely happens.

I think we are having some regency bias here.

I clearly remember how stupid and bad of a coach Pinkel was several times

You can only coach so much. The kids have to execute. We didn't at times and Georgia forced us into mistakes at times.

The game plan was pretty sound IMO. Definitely should have got a TO on that blocked punt though. Could see that coming a mile away. I would have played somebody else for Hall also, but I guess they were content in using him as a decoy of sorts.

Flush it and on to SC. That's the difference between a very good season and an average one.

2 games in a row someone has stolen the ball from an "NFL" TE. Punt formation is 100% coaching.

Right there is 14 pts. You're talking about a tie game.

Well...maybe. No guarantee we score on that drive. No guarantee Georgia doesn't score after getting the punt.

I'm pretty sure that coaches are preaching to Albert to hold the ball. That's on him.

His forward progress was stopped anyway lol

Agree on the punt. They should have seen that and didn't. Or maybe they did and didn't want to burn the TO. Either way that was a bad coaching mistake.

4 turnovers. These are the games I am tired of seeing as a Mizzou fan. Fumbles, dropped paases, blocked punts won't get you too many wins on Saturday and once again against Georgia we've decided to shite the bed.
agree. Also blame 14 points on the refs. If you don’t agree, in my opinon you would have to have a mental disability of some sort.

You may be surprised but agree with you on this game. I was encouraged on how much they fought back and never gave up. Yeah plenty of mistakes but hopefully correctable. We played the number 2 team in the nation and made it a game. I figured before the season started we would get blown out by Georgia and Bama. That didn't happen, sure we didn't win, but I see improvement with this team. It now needs to be consistent improvement. We can beat Scar and Kentucky, two teams I expected to be a toss up. 9 wins this year is not unreasonable.

Normally I do disagree with JQ's "Bright Side" assessments of HCBO's performance. But this time I have to agree with JQ. I thought the team was very, very prepared, Dooley called a good offensive game, and DB's challenged more passes then I've seen in a long time. The team made mistakes, but UGA is one of the few teams with the talent to make us pay on all those mistakes.

To go from the Purdue game defense to playing well against that stable of talented RB's and receivers, I gotta give HCBO thumbs up. Also it appears the his recruiting isn't as bad as the ratings say they are. We didn't look slow or outclassed when compared to UGA's top 5 raated year in year out recruits.

They had fight. Stayed in it. I like that.

Still poor fundamentals. Arm tackling, blown coverages, and it seems the worst place to hit our receivers is in the hands. Special teams an afterthought.

Hall in the game at all was an indefensible decision. Lock needed speed on both sides of the field.

No guts. You're a home dog with nothing to lose, with the ball and 60 seconds on the clock before the half. You take a delay of game and walk off? Not one deep shot in the whole sequence.

There wasn't 60 seconds left when they did that. They ran two plays prior and it went nowhere. There was about 10 left when they took the delay of game.

Where's the goal line cameras? Too much money for an 11am game?

there were definite positives. some of the game planning was obviously good, leading up to the game. I'm unwilling to blame every drop, fumble, etc. on Odom. team did well in the trenches. we didn't get embarrassed in front of the recruits. in fact, they saw that we could play with Georgia, except for all the self-inflicted wounds.
