Nobody is arguing that. But number 2 seems more like him. Whatever the timing he was not smart, which also seems like him

Why wouldn’t Odom tell the staff what Sterk told Odom to tell them?

Pissing on about a lack of support to the AD during a 4 game losing streak while the program is losing money is just moronic. The HC's ignorance was echoed by Castillo's line of shite after the Arkansas game. "The fans weren't supporting us". Whining about social media comments. What a joke. That stadium was packed for homecoming. They went on the road and deflowered by Vandy and a fricking WR playing QB in Kentucky. I guarantee that new locker room smells like bitch after that team spent the fall in it.

“You’re not getting a public vote of support” isn’t “we’re all getting fired.”

Sterk wasn’t sticking his neck out for a guy who was failing miserably. He shouldn’t. Odom wasn’t sticking his neck out for Sterk.

Odom didn’t tell his staff that we are all getting fired.

I think Odom's teams spent too much time on Twitter, maybe Barry did too with his Rock Bridge Left Tackle comments.

He told them something incorrect enough that it got back to Sterk.

I would like Clark. He brought back UAB from the dead in quick fashion. No one else like him?

Sterk is probably going to go down as the worst AD in school history

Interesting article here. Mentions McElwain, Fritz, Healy, Holtz, Calhoun and Monken.

quote:

Sources told FootballScoop that Central Michigan’s Jim McElwain, Tulane’s Willie Fritz, Louisiana Tech’s Skip Holtz, Air Force’s Troy Calhoun, Army’s Jeff Monken and Charlotte’s Will Healy have emerged as candidates for the opening in Columbia.

quote:

McElwain is the one coach on this list with SEC experience, having gone 22-12 in three seasons at Florida. The positive: he won the SEC East in his first two seasons. The negative: he was pushed out midway through his third. After a season as Michigan’s wide receivers coach, McElwain is 8-4 in his first season at CMU, with a trip to the MAC Championship waiting Saturday. He also went 22-15 in three seasons at Colorado State and helped Alabama to two national championships as the Tide’s offensive coordinator from 2008-11.Sources say his name is trending in this search.

Who knows if these guys have legit sources, but yikes on that.

Granted that Jim McElwain situation at Florida was weird. He did in 2 east titles in his 3 years there.

But I don’t want him or his goofy face

By the day I’m getting less and less confident that Sterk is going to bring in a coach who is actually better than Odom.

You wanna talk about the East being down when we won it...look at the years Florida won it. The supposed offensive guru couldn’t field anything resembling competent and simply skated by on the defensive talent that Florida always has.

Nobody wants this motherfricker

Sterk is hell bent on beating every last ounce of “give a frick” out of this fanbase

McElwain was playing with Muschamp's players and was still winning.

There's a lot talk McElwain was chased out by the new AD from the get go.

If some Chicago PD guy doesn't molest q shark I think people are a lot less wary of him as a coach.

Honestly I think he's going to be the pick and I'm ok with it. He's a 8-10 win a season guy who isn't going to lose to Vanderbilt and Wyoming.

yes the east was down when Florida won, but he went 22-12 without his players, still pulled off some BIG time wins, and was fired on a weird note.

Im not big on him, but out of some of the names this board and others have thrown around..theres worse.

Out of the names on that list he is the best option. Fritz, Monken, and Calhoun are names thrown into the article to fill out a paragraph.

Well Muschamp brought very good players to Florida. Top classes every year

Lol...we’ll see about that. Seems pretty ambitious for a guy who was that at Florida.

Tulane fans take on Fritz

quote:

I have watched every game he’s coached at Tulane. He has done a solid job, but he hasn’t done anything to me that warrant an SEC job. Had he finished this season 9-3 or 10-2 my opinion may have been different but his teams have continuously fallen flat on their face against good teams. He has one quality win and that was last year at home against Memphis. I hope he stays but this isn’t how I felt at all when hearing Bowden was interviewing with Clemson. He hasn’t figured out how to make his offense work at the AAC level, so that wouldn’t make me feel excited about how it will translate at a lower SEC school like Arkansas or Missouri. His scheme will beat teams that have a lower level of talent and lose to the ones who have a greater level of talent. That doesn’t translate well at Arkansas or Missouri. His in game coaching decisions have been questionable and this year he repeatedly did not have his team ready to play in the 1st half including the Houston game we won after falling back 28-7. Saying 22-27 at Tulane deserves an SEC job because it’s Tulane is a dangerous game to play. He’s done a good job building a foundation but I have yet to see anything that tells me he’s gonna get us from mediocre to good.
