I’m starting to like Healy a lot. No, he hasn’t earned it yet but frick that. Once a guy does “earn it” they become much more difficult than o get. Get the star BEFORE he’s the star and let him turn into the star at your school

Ceiling. Needs to be the most important thing here

Name sec head coaches that have been poached for better jobs. James Franklin vandy to penn st., Dan Mullen to Florida, but who else in recent memory has been poached (I’m sure there are more, right?). Most coaching turnover in SEC is because Coach was fired. We have to pony up the $ and spend it like we belong in the sec. if we worried about a prospective coach being poached down the road that probably means it’s the right person. We always trying to find someone with ties or history or connection to the zou, the reality is $ talk. This program needs to be serious about what they are willing to commit. I’m hearing we are committed to it, but it’s time to see it. Go hire a name...quickly

Not to be too large a wet blanket, but everyone knows Sterks only 2 football coach hires were pretty much disasters right?

I don't think you have been paying close attention to sdsu football this year.

Who would you rather have? Assuming there was a bunch of no’s (which I’m not sure is a safe assumption)?

A lot of these names do nothing to excite me. His potential does

My list is pretty much the same as most here.

Make Clark, Napier, Clawson say no

Healy is a younger version of what we just fired.

Healy isn’t that similar to Odom. Other than being a young guy.

Wake lost to Clemson by like 50 points. Doesn't fill me with confidence

In doing a little research on Healy I actaully am warming to the idea. I think in2-3 years if he stays he might be a big name. Problem being you are going out on a limb a bit with his hiring...

Clemson played one game decided by a score all year. Meh.

He has some solid pieces on his team.

Newman certainly had a solid first year as a starter.

Sage Surratt would have been a Biletnikoff finalist if he hadn't got hurt early vs VaTech. He wouldn't have mattered vs Clemson but they probably beat Syracuse with him healthy and win 9 games.

Carlos Basham Jr, Jacory Johns and Tyler Williams combined for 31.5 TFls and 14.5 sacks off the edge. I think everyone on this board would have been happy with that considering that's half of the TFLs and 4.5 fewer sacks than MU had as a team.

Their defense overall is less talented but produced 5 more INTs, had 14 fewer PBU, and forced 6 more fumbles.

What he is doing at a school that has won 41% of it's games historically impresses me.

OK Nuke:

I'd take Clawson

I view Healy as a not ready for prime time filler type.. Why am I wrong?

Also just read Campbell just signed an extension with Iowa St..

Austin Peay beat semo by 4 a month after we shut them out 50-0.
Wake lost to Clemson 52-3

I'm starting to hope it's Harsin

Lol...what?

I’d be fine with Harsin btw. It’s fairly safe. Should be ok. I don’t think it has much of a chance of being a HR, but it should keep us competitive and stable.

I doubt if Clawson gets interviewed. He may not be interested in starting another rebuild. Regardless, you look what he is doing outside of the games where Clemson is overwhelming him, he is putting a solid product on the field with minimal resources.
