I'm disappointed in the loss but they fought hard. They won back my emotional investment, not just my time investment.
They showed some grit and Drinkwitz had them playing hard. If they can co tiny that and with better QB play (Horn) then this team can compete.

Horn will not see the field this year.
Drink can’t admit he’s wrong.

This is what pisses me off so much.
He won't even get a little experience for other QB's in case of injury, and sometimes to mix it up for the other team's defense.

The defense looked pretty decent. We should have won but drink was playing safe with a field goal kicker that has never missed from that distance. In hindsight they should have gone for the td, but shite. There could have been better offensive calls in the third and fourth quarters, but i can’t blame drink for the missed fg and fumble in OT. For that matter, he called the perfect running play in OT. Drink didn’t fumble it.
In ranking Mizzou dick punches over the years, this one might be tops. In one second we went from gonna win to loss.

Wonder if the Kicker now has the yips for the rest of the year. Would not surprise me.

Sterk really screwed the pooch when he passed on Campbell and Fleck in 2015. Will we ever find an AD that stops hiring shitty arse coaches?

Well that was Mack Rhoades so….

Correct. But the point still stands.

No one passed on Campbell. He told his wife 2 years before that if Iowa State ever opened up, he would go for it. He didn't take any offer seriously but ISU. He loves the atmosphere there apparently. We were supposed to get Rhule, but that's another story. Rhodes put the screws to us on that one.

I never heard that about Campbell before. Is Iowa St his alma mater?

He and his wife are driving through Ames on game day. And he's blown away by the atmosphere. Granted somehow the 45,000 make it seem like 90,000. All of Ames is involved and they go nuts on game day. He falls in love.

Then he must be seeing something I'm not. I've been to Ames before. I couldn't wait to leave.

It's like vampires at sundown. They come out out game day Saturdays. Considering their mediocre history, it is impressive how enthusiastic their fan base is.

Iowa St athletics is all they have to cling to. And there's nothing else to do there. I've been to Jack Trice Stadium before. It's OK, but nothing special.
