I've tried to "Google" for information, does anyone have any scuttlebutt on Coach Kul? It's like he dropped off the face of the Earth. Is Odom really dumping him?

Sounds like Kul is dumping himself. He realizes that he can do better than the Mizzou program.

Odom wants him to stay but Kul likely will leave.

It is what it is.

Kills has a rich fantasy life. Some times he gets it right by pure chance.

Just heard Dave Matter on the radio and he said there was underlying tension between Kul and Odom that could be felt early on. He mentioned Pinkel actually passed Kul over three times, once in Toledo and twice here and he didn't expect Kul to stay past this year, whoever the coach.

He didn't know if Odom has offered Kul to stay or if Kul would stay if offered the DC.

He also wondered if Kul is going to receive an offer to DC or end up as a DLine coach elsewhere.

I can link the interview once it's posted.

Meh. All they're offering is educated guesses.

Until something concrete happens that's all we have.

I thought Kul was leaving because he wants to be a DC and Odom wasn't going to to promote him.

That's the problem, there has been nothing factual since Odom got hired. If Coach Kul ends up DC at USCe, I'm gonna be pissed.

Here's what Matter said:

LINK

"That was not the first time Gary Pinkel passed over Kuligowski for the defensive coordinator job (when he hired Barry Odom). In fact, it was the third time. He (went with Matt Eberflus) over Kuligowski. When Eberflus went to the Cleveland Browns after the 2008 season, (he went with Dave Steckel). Then last year, he went with Odom and didn't go with Kuligowski. Pinkel is usually a pretty good judge of character when it comes to identifying coaches and who's the right fit for the job. I could sense a lot of tension in the offseason last year. It was impossible to ignore. Kuligowski hasn't talked publicly to anybody. He actually stopped following all the Mizzou writers on Twitter."

"He was following a handful of us...we noticed he wasn't following on Twitter anymore. He shouldn't have trouble finding another job..."

Not true. _I_ know, but I ain't tellin'. It's a sordid tale, full of sex and violence. I'm selling it to National Enquirer.

You can read about it there.

Well, if he was mad for getting passed over that is really weird that he turned down a DC position to stay here....

mubobby says no friction. I think Matter is guessing.

Anyway, Coach O wants to keep him. He's exploring options. Best I can tell

I'm a huge fan of Coach Kul..... However if he is still butt hurt over being passed over last year. There's nothing anyone can do about it.. Time to either get over it, or move on.

Hope BO is also exploring other options for a DC as well

Right, if he's mad at Pinkel (which, like I said is odd) and that is stopping him from taking a position with Coach O...then, oh well. He's a great coach obviously, but if he's holding a grudge and doesn't want to be here then it's time to move on.

I'm kinda thinking both are right.

Could be Kul shows frustration with wanting to get to the next level and seeing no passage to get there.

At the same time, everybody works well and wants to work well with the best DL coach in the business.

This is going to be Odom's defense regardless of who the DC is.

I'm kind of expecting Walters or some other young guy to be named the DC, maybe the LB coach at Alabama. Much the same way that Saban & Smart have been at Alabama the last decade.

If he was that mad at Pinkel why did he turn down what looked like a promotion at Illinois? Of course that turned out to be a dumpster fire over there (and maybe that's why) but you would have thought if relations were that crappy he would have jumped ship last year.
