So he was recruited to Mizzou to be a 6’2 PF? No that’s not the case. Geist is playing the position he was recruited for, that’s to be a guard.

One of the problems Mizzou is having at PG is the lack of talent in state over the past 4 years.

The next problem was Kim Anderson could not recruit.

A few more problems Mizzou had was losing scholarships because of Haith and having losing seasons under KA.

Dude Kim Anderson recruited Geist because we needed someone that could post up down low as a center or power forward. We needed more post play

I think Geist is an alright back up wing for us. I really like Cuonzo, doesn't mean I think every decision or philosophy he has is correct. Historically his teams.

Tennessee
1st - Assists 127th Turnovers - 251st
2nd - Assists 280th Turnovers - 155th
3rd - Assists 74th Turnovers - 140th

Cal
1st - Assists 157th Turnovers - 44th
2nd - Assists 182nd Turnovers - 191st
3rd - Assists 231st Turnovers - 191st

I haven't seen Phillips get a chance to consistently play enough this year. So based of regressing or Cuonzo not being able to be a true point guard coach. Looking at the past six years and this year...Cuonzo doesn't know how to use or what he's looking for with a true point guard.

I don't want to bag on the kid either, but he lost us West Virginia, he had 4 turnovers in 7 minutes in that horrible start against Illinois, and the lazy pass against Florida. I don't think he should be benched I think if we are truly serious about this thing we need to give Terrence an opportunity.

I wouldn’t read too much into what Cuonzo did at Tennessee and Cal.
Cuonzo competely changed how his team plays offensively this year. Once he gets better ball handlers I would say that the pace Mizzou plays at will catch up with the offensive changes.

I man, if he had a good PG that wasn't playing well then I'd buy the criticism.

He doesn't though. Geist is wildly inconsistent and Phillips has regressed and the reason he isn't playing more is he has a weak handle.

Maybe instead of forcing Geist to play PG he should play PF or center where he’s comfortable

Play center @ 6'? You live in a state with legalized recreational use, don't you?

He was recruited here to play PF and/or center. He’s a post up man. Why do I need to keep repeating myself?

Phillips cant go to his left hand or defend anyone man to man. That isn't regression, but a continuation of what he was prior to the coaching change. His inability to stay in front of his man is why he doesn't play. If he could at least play some perimeter defense, he would get time at the 2 and play some PG.

Geist plays solid defense and for the most part, doesn't force things that aren't there. There isn't anything dynamic about him but he is a better option than Phillips.

Well if we had Phillips and Geist on the floor together, Phillips could feed it down low to Geist for some easy post ups. This way we don’t have to sacrifice Phillips on the bench
