I do not think there is anything related to Harris leaving and MJP's physical status. Further, I think M Porter probably comes back for next year. I think he will want at least 1 full year of college ball..., and 1 full year of playing college with his brother Jontay.

He has realized that playing for a coach is usually a different experience than being recruited. CM is demanding and it sounds like Harris can't deal with it. He will spend the rest of his life walking away when it gets tough.

Next.

The weak ones fall the strong carry on (Tom Petty lyric)

One thing I taught my kids, you don't have to play next session but you will complete this one since you signed on.

Quitting on his teammates mid season sends a clear message that this kid can't be counted on in the pinch. It's a shame really, hopefully one day he will figure it out.

Yeah cuz he played so much in our last game.... That we won on the road. Kid is scoring 4 a game right now and usually doing stupid **** throughout. His upside was next year and beyond IMO.

Hypothetical question "If Harris attended Washington would he have eventually transferred from UW"? I'd put it at about 95 percent that kid would transfer from just about anywhere. He's got some Tremaine Isabell in him for sure.

You may be right about his upside, but the upside for our season leaned heavily on him developing IMO.

If Phillips is able to regain form that would help quite a bit.

Agreed, this also probably takes some pressure off of Phillips too though.

Phillips will be behind Geist in the pecking order; IMO Geist's upside is higher than Phillips.

Biggest issue if anything is Robertson will have to play more PG now.

Then again we smoked South Carolina on the road without Harris doing much of anything so who knows.

I think you may be right.

Ben Fred with the heat on the Twitter machine: “I don't knock kids for transferring when coaches can change jobs at will. That said, it's hard to imagine Blake Harris finding an easier path to being The Man than he had at #Mizzou. He had to beat out Geist and Phillips. And bailed halfway through his freshman season.”

247 has him 88% to Mizzou at the moment. Not a sure thing, but not a long shot either.

We have different styles. The one thing I taught my kids: Keep that toaster out of the fricking tub, you mouth-breathing imbeciles.

In my opinion this does not hurt this year but next 2 years it does. He looked over matched in the few games I have gotten to see. Except the Illini game.

TP may not have the ability but he does have the experience. Hopefully experience gets him to play at a higher level.

If the 3's keep falling that will help out significantly.

What's up with all the attacks on the kid? He wasn't a fit for CM's half-court game. He's more geared for a running full-court game. Plus the word on him coming out of high school is that he can drive his coach crazy with his out-of-control play at times. The kid never knocked Mizzou, but clowns on here calling the kid everything bad but the son of Satan.

He missed the last 4 practices with the flu plus he's not a favorite of coach CM. Since he's been contemplating this decision since Thanksgiving and his family being at the S. Carolina game, I bet they probably convinced him to leave after getting a whiff of Mizzou's point guards.
