Just want to reiterate how fun it is to watch Vitello and think about how Scherzer campaigned for him to get hired at Mizzou.
Honest question: how much talent would Vitello have been able to bring to Mizzou, compared to what he has done at Tennessee?

The Tennessee program was in the same or worse shape as Mizzou at the time. UT’s program is no more storied than Mizzou. They don’t have that much better weather. Vitello has always been a flat out recruiter. He would have had every bit the talent at Mizzou that he has at UT. We would have had resources pumped into the program. You would actually have full or near full stadiums. In fact, I think he might have recruited better at Mizzou

Vitello gets ejected for a chest bump with an ump. Vitello then turns it into a positive going around campus giving chest bumps to students for $2, raising the money for a veterans charity. That’s what we’re missing. Raise money for charity though surely not a ton. Create “fun” around campus about the program. Create interest

I have a feeling not hiring Vitello is going to be about the same as letting Frank Broyles leave for Arkansas.
You simply can not have incompetent people in positions of power. A great coaching hire can be a 20-year decision. Ours wasn't, though I have nothing against Beiser.

At least he was followed by Dan Devine who was a legend himself

Nothing against Beiser beyond having the worst team in the SEC

Beiser needs to go.
Hell, keep Drink, Gates, wrestling and women's gymnastics coachs. The rest need to be out the damn door, along with most of the AD administration. I only hope this is what DRF was hired to do.

Add Softball to that list of keepers but agree. Coaching at D1 level is based on competion.

Probably need to clean house with a lot of AD rank and file, too. I'd ask the gymnastics, wrestling, and softball coaches who to keep in the entire AD, and I'd let them know if their list is too large I'm just letting everyone go.
We would still have a problem with the BOC and admin of the University, though.
I think we can do better than Beiser; he probably isn't capable of ever being better than 10th in the SEC. Our RPI currently places us in a near-tie for 9-12th place.

Has he been fired yet???
How he and womens basketball coach continue coaching, and having a contract is a pure mystery.

You have to have a good replacement ready to take over.

So like Tony Vitello

Hopefully they have started the search already for Beiser's replacement. I don't care if we get a slow-build type, just someone who is going to be able to prove over time that they can develop talent and get players to the majors. Someone who knows going in that they have 1/4 the resources and facilities the rest of the SEC puts into baseball.

I would be shocked if they fire him
