According to Gabe, Harrell isn’t an option

I was about to ask why the talk about Harrell seemed to had gone silent.... I was in the camp that thought he'd be a good fit here.

Any Wags as to what MIZZOU's offer to Fisch would look like?

Any speculation of names at this point?

Huepel made 700k, so a proven OC like Fisch would make similar salary. Maybe be throw some bonuses in to allow the OC to make between 900k-1million. That could maybe keep that coach around.

I’m also curious why Harrell is no longer an option.

Mazzone, OSU’s “OC” and Werner of Bama/OM. I thinks some other names.

Per Gabriel.

Both of those guys would help recruiting. Even though I don't like Bama's offensive scheme for Mizzou, I would still take better recruits.

How epic would it be if Chase Daniel just retired and moved back to Columbia to be the OC.

Canada’s name being thrown around.

I suppose Canada and Wilson are supposed to like the idea of actually coaching the offense as opposed to their current situations.

No on Chase Daniel! Never liked the offense we ran then, and still don’t! Pass...pass...pass. Score in 50 seconds, and wear the defense out!
Fans like that crap, but it don’t win championships!

Clemson won a championship with a variation of that offense.
No to Chase because he’s never coached before, and makes more money between playing and from his apparel company than he would as an assistant.

Clemson had a DT QB that could run too! Not to mention a good defense.

That sounds a lot like the 2013 Mizzou team that was 1 game away from playing in the championship.
The defense failed Mizzou that day.

The 2007 team was a healthy DA and Coffman away from the championship game as well.

The point is that spread tempo offenses can win big.

It’s also that Chase has never coached and made not want to coach after he is done playing, so shouldn’t be an option for OC.

Most of Chase’s NFL career he’s played for Reid and Payton, 2 of the best offensive coaches in football. So if Chase does coach, he will know more than just the offense he ran at Mizzou.

Canada would be an interesting option. He’s run both pro-style and spread offenses in his various stops.
Most of the top NFL offenses combine those 2 systems. I do wonder what his preferred system is.

Disagree! In your mind we were 1 game from playing in a championship game, but the problem is, we got smoked in both the conf championship games. Like I said, it gives some fans hard ons, but it does not win! Puts asses in the seats, and that’s about it.

In 2013 the offense scored 42 points in the SEC championship game. Undisciplined play by the DL is the reason Auburn ran for over 500 yards and scored 59 points.

Auburn also ran a tempo spread offense that season.

Undisciplined and exhausted from an offense that can’t run some clock and still score.

I tell ya what....we’re going to disagree on this big time, and that’s fine. So, I’ll just agree that you’re right and so am I, so we don’t have to go back and forth all night. But, I never want to see an offense like that ever again! I like balance, so when we play good teams, and they shut us down, we don’t become 1 deminsional so we can run the ball effectively enough to keep that from happening.

That's basically what they've always done.

Doesn't Canada make almost 2M dollars? I know he and Orgeron don't seem to get along well, but he'd have to take a huge pay cut.

Canada made 1.5 million this season. He’s not staying at LSU, so will be taking a pay cut as not many schools pay close to that amount for coordinators.

I also have no idea if there’s any interest in Canada.

I had thought he was angling for a HC job at a smaller school but not sure if there are many openings left.

There are no good options here. Nobody wants to stick around for more than Lock's senior year unless it's a glorified graduate assistant.
