Any concern on Fisch?

I don't know for a fact that it was down to Finley or Fisch, but it seems that way.
Looks like the board has made their mind up on Finley, but any concern with Fisch? Specifically that he seems to be more of a pro style type background. I do like that he is an experienced QB coach and that seems to be a better fit, but I'm not sure if he is going to be able to continue our current scheme effectively since he really doesn't have much experience in it.
Thoughts?

No concern with Fisch. His offense at UCLA wasn’t drastically different than what Mizzou ran. The receivers route trees were more diverse. He didn’t run as much, but that was more based on personnel.

I have very real concern about him leaving after one or two years.
He doesn't seem to stay anywhere that long...
Gainesville (FL) PKY (DC) (1997)
New Jersey Red Dogs (WR/QC) (1998)
Florida (GA) (1999–2000)
Houston Texans (DQC) (2001–2003)
Baltimore Ravens (AQB/AWR) (2004–2007)
Denver Broncos (WR) (2008)
Minnesota (OC/QB) (2009)
Seattle Seahawks (QB) (2010)
Miami (FL) (OC/QB) (2011–2012)
Jacksonville Jaguars (OC) (2013–2014)
Michigan (QB/WR/PGC) (2015-2016)
UCLA (OC/QB/interim HC) (2017–present)

Why is it a concern if Mizzou is looking for a new OC in 1-2 years? If Fisch does great and is ready for a HC job in the next year or 2 that means the offense will have been great while he was here.
Great assistants get promoted.

This seems to be the new norm.
I'd be happy with 2 years of Fisch

I don’t see why that matters if Fisch has the offense in the top 15-20 again next season.

I'd rather have someone who is at least somewhat a long term solution. It's obviously not ideal to be down a couple coaches during bowl prep.
Maybe that's just unavoidable in the modern landscape.
Another thing would be, how is he going to recruit if he's here for only a year. We might not sign a QB this year, that can't happen two years in a row.

Look at hueple, you dont find this shite to be annoying?

The offense went from being 1 of the 10 worst in college football before Huepel to top 10. That is in no way annoying.
As long as Mizzou is winning I don’t care who is coaching. Good head coaches have assistants get promoted.
Mizzou could heavily incentivize the contract for an OC like Fisch to try getting him to stay longer.

My concern about Fisch, is he a one and done.
We have a QB and offense that any OC would want to have.
But after next year, everything changes.
Jedd doesn't have much history of staying very long.
Lock could enhance his resume and back to a blue blood program or NFL.

I haven't completely written off Finley. I simply said that his play calling in the bowl game didn't make me jump out of my chair demanding that he be anointed the new OC.

Players dont want to ay for coaches who leave. Point blank.

That's reasonable. You seem to be in the minority though.

That would be my biggest concern. We simply can't miss on a QB this next cycle. Whoever we target, BO himself needs to be heavily involved with him.

Very interesting read on Okie State's OC

One of Gundy's top priorities was finding a guy he could keep around for awhile.

This board would go up in flames if BO made that type of hire for OC right now.
BO needs to win next year, hiring a proven OC would get BO the job security to maybe make that type of hire in a year or 2, when a guy like Fisch moves on to be a HC.

When Gundy began searching for an offensive coordinator after the 2012 season, he sought two qualities: talent and anonymity. He was tired of losing assistants.
The only problem here is if they're successful, the anonymity part is gone.

Fisch brings experience. Look what Heupel did with experience with Lock.
JJ would be the normal promote from within we've seen with Walters/Hill/Ford etc.
Hoping for Fisch
